Hi, my name is Nicole and I am the owner of Mortgage Choice St Marys franchise. 

My Father; Des Nation started our Mortgage Choice St Marys franchise back in 1998 and I started working him in 2002 after an opportunity presented itself and I'm glad I did. 

When I first joined the Mortgage Choice St Marys team, I started as a Loan Processor / Administrator / Reception, through the years I’ve enjoyed liaising with Clients, Lenders, Solicitors, Conveyancers & Real Estate Agents to ensure finance is obtained in a timely manner.

Since taking some time off to have 2 children, I’ve completed the Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking and Diploma of Mortgage Broking Management which meant my role changed to Mortgage Broker. I genuinely enjoy helping people so this step and now more recently taking over the business, were easy decisions to make. 

Des has now officially retired and enjoying his fully deserved rest given his 50 + years working history in the Financial Industry!

My name is Diana and I am a recepionist at Mortgage Choice St Marys.

It is a joy to work along side Nicole as I get to witness what it's like to be able to help families into their first homes, as well as helping clients save money on their home loans which is very rewarding.

After just finishing my Certificate 3 in Business traineeship, I'm looking to further my studies within the mortgage broking industry and will do so confidently by having Nicole help me along the way.

When I'm not working you can find me spending time with family or going on adventures with my dog. 

In 1998 my wife & I decided to take the opportunity to buy my own Mortgage Choice franchise, and a open a shopfront office on Queen Street, St Marys. Prior to this big step in my career, my background has always been in Banking in Finance; having worked for ANZ for almost 25 years and a few years as Mortgage Broker with Aussie Home Loans.

The past 20 years as a Mortgage Choice franchisee has been a truly rewarding journey. Many clients now call me ‘Uncle Des’ which is humbling to hear so many people are grateful for the advice and service I strive to provide to them. I enjoy seeing people come back time and time again and refer their friends and family to me.

On a personal note, in my spare time I enjoy watching the NRL and have supported the Tigers all my life. I also cherish spending time with my wife, 2 daughters and 4 grandkids.

Update as at May 2019:

I have recently made the decision to pass the baton to my daughter Nicole and take a back seat in the business with the view of slowly moving into retirement. Nicole has now officially bought the business from me and is enjoying now bossing me around! :-) I've worked in the industry for almost 50 years and whilst I still enjoy speaking to people about their finances, I believe it's time to start the process into retirement.

Nicole has picked up extensive knowledge whilst working with me over 17 years, I'm sure our loyal clients (and new) will see Nicole has the same desire to help people and willing to go the extra mile to help all she comes in contact with.

Due to the unprecedented COVID-19 situation, I have decided to relinquish my credit licence and have officially retired. I would like to thank the many clients and well wishes that Nicole continues to receive, I wish everyone a safe and prosperous future.
