Our Meadery

Unfiltered, Small Batch, and No Sulfites Added.

What is Mead? It’s simply honey, water, and yeast. Dissolve the honey in water, add yeast, and begin fermenting! Sounds simple right?

At Mr. B’s Meadery, we like to make every kind of mead! Our selection ranges from dry to sweet with spicy variations and sparkling mead on tap! We offer 18+ rotating flavors - one of the largest selections of mead in the United States!!

All of our mead is made locally in Seattle’s SoDo District. Mr. B’s Mead was established in October of 2019 with our Fremont Tasting Room opening in July 2021.

We’re all natural

Mr. B’s Meadery makes small batches using local honey and ingredients, occasionally experimenting with exotic ingredients (Like Hawaiian Honeys!).

Unlike most meaderies and wineries, we do not filter or add sulfites to our products. Keeping our process simple and minimalistic allows us make the highest quality mead while reducing our carbon footprint.

About Mr. B

In 2010, a friend gave me a bottle from their first batch of mead. I've never been much of a drinker, so I was blown away by how different it was from Beer, Wine, or Cider.

About a year later, I finally asked them how they made that batch of mead. They just gave me the name of the recipe and said "figure it out". So after researching mead and taking classes at SCC, I bought all the equipment, and just started making it as a hobby. In the first 8 years, I made 80 5-gallon batches of mead.

I got my license in August 2019 and officially opened for business October 2019 at our production site in SoDo, Seattle. We later opened a tasting room in Fremont in July 2021.

Mr. B is an avid snowboarder and the maker of the the awesome meads! He also loves music and has been the lead singer for a few local bands. If you’d like to nerd out with Mr. B, LOTR it up! Mr. B will be working Saturday evenings with the occasional drop by!

“I love seeing the expressions of others trying mead for the first time. Their smiles make my heart melt.” - Mr. B

About Mrs. B

I moved to Seattle from central Ohio in 2015 and was on a search to find mead. Mr. B and I met in 2016 and it was complete kismet!

Now, years later, Mr. B makes the mead and I do the design! I also make pet portraits that are on display at the meadery in Fremont.

I left my 9-5 job at the end of 2022 and am now fully devoted to making trips Mr. B’s an enchanting and awesome experience! (Be sure to check out the bathroom when you visit!)

I don’t know how to take compliments so I’ll probably just refuse to make eye contact and giggle like Seth Rogen if you give me one but trust, it’s greatly appreciated!

Please feel free to talk to me about custom artwork and/or home decor if you see me at the meadery on Mondays for Sip and Sketch. I’m always up to give tips if you’re a budding DIY-er or discuss future commissioned projects for us to create together!

“Love is Love... and I love mead… I kinda married it…” - Mrs. B

About Mr. ə (Shua)

Everyone’s favorite mead tender!

I moved from Colorado to the Seattle area in 2017. I tried a sip of mead once many years ago and couldn’t seem to find it anywhere else until I had the joy of meeting Mr. B in 2019.

After the spin cycle of 2020 I was delighted to hear that my friend was opening a tasting room in my neighborhood! I stepped through the magical door and instantly felt my soul purr.

Since Spring of 2022 I’ve been enjoying the endless blessing of serving mead, tarot cards and personalized flavor combos in the Fremont tasting room. Mr. B’s mead and Mrs. B’s art creates a vibrant bliss for all walks of life. What could bee finer? ;)

Come in and visit Shua for Tarot Tuesdays, and Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays!

Welcome Jonathan to Our Team!

Jonathan Navarro came to Seattle to be a student at Antioch University Seattle for clinical mental health counseling with an emphasis in drama therapy. He is an ardent storyteller who has focused in building community through the work he does there in combination with his own personal life. His experiences as a Chicano, actor, artist, teacher, journalist, activist, and student have shown him the importance of being an advocate for communities. He hopes to embolden others to feel pride in their stories. So together they can build their own narratives and be a voice for those who are oppressed.

He is stoked about joining the team and is ready to share stories and sling some mead your way with a smile.

Come welcome Jonathan to the mead family Wednesdays, Saturday Evenings, or Sunday evenings!
