This pendant draws inspiration from the Chicago Bull statue, comprising of several large fragments that were transported to Chicago in 1929. The giant Assyrian statue was a human-headed winged bull, once belonging to a group that flanked the door to the throne room of King Sargon II at Khorsabad. Winged animal composites were common in Babylonian and Assyrian art, often used to protect entrances from evil spirits.
