AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Officials with the Amarillo Fire Department released information regarding a two alarm fire that occurred on Wednesday in downtown Amarillo.

According to AFD, at around 6:39 p.m. on March 27, crews were dispatched to 206 South Jackson after crews noticed a cloud of smoke.

On arrival at around 6:40 p.m. fire crew observed an abandoned structure fully involved.

AFD detailed that at around 6:58 p.m. crews took a defensive tactic to attack the fire until it was brought under control.

AFD added that no injuries were reported and its crews remain on scene performing overhaul. Officials said the Fire Marshall’s Office is also on scene investigating.
