Dr. Emily Valorz believes health is one of our most valuable possessions. She grew up in Milton, Massachusetts and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and her doctorate from Parker University. An athlete all her life, it was not until she played women’s lacrosse in college that she started receiving chiropractic adjustments in an effort to relieve aches and pains.

Through her experiences there, she realized chiropractic did not just relieve muscle aches and joint pain; it greatly improved both athletic and academic performance and also prevented new injuries from occurring.

She went on to become the first woman to become inducted into the lacrosse hall of fame in 2011. Attributing her athletic and academic successes in college to chiropractic care, Dr. Valorz maintains that a healthy nervous system does not just affect pain levels but also affects daily functioning.

Dr. Valorz graduated from Texas’ Parker College of Chiropractic. She has completed her Pediatric Certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), and is Webster Technique Certified (a technique most often used to balance maternal pelvic misalignments associated with breech positioning). She is currently pursuing certification with the Intersect4Kids program (a program that works to alleviate sensory processing difficulty).

Dr. Valorz is well-versed in Diversified, Activator, Thompson, Pediatric, Perinatal and Cranio-Sacral Therapy and is able to use a variety of techniques to best help even the most difficult of cases.

Dr. Valorz now lives in Amesbury, Ma. She is an avid skier, novice runner, golfer and surfer and has recently set her sights on the PanMass Challenge.

Jessica Medeiros, Office Manager and Chiropractic Assistant

Jessica joined New Beginnings in October 2022 as office manager and chiropractic assistant. Jessica was born and raised in Southern Utah where she grew to love the outdoors with horseback riding, snowboarding, wakeboarding and hiking. She currently resides in Wakefield and continues to spend as much time outdoors as possible with her husband, three daughters, German Shepherd, bunny and chickens.

Jessica became interested in wellness after giving birth to her second daughter. After two pregnancies she appreciates her body more and is healthier for herself and her children. She knows that exercise and good nutrition carries over into all areas of her life. She feels happier, more energetic, less stressed and less anxious.

Jessica is thrilled to work in the functional medicine space where we don’t just treat symptoms, we treat the cause.
