While having a conversation about the well-being of women over a cup of coffee, two women from Jeffreys Bay decided to organise a “life-changing” wellness event; with the first edition hosted at Rose Barn on March 11.
With the desire to see women whole, to see women discover their hidden essence, and to give them a platform in which to explore it, Mona Willis from Mohnan Styling, and Robyn D’Arcy from The Studio, began executing their plan to host a women’s wellness event.
The pair then decided to contact Tatum Potgieter, a professional chef, while the manageress of The Rose Barn was contacted for her extensive knowledge on food and its effective healthy utilisation.
Natasha Wepener from Organic Heart came on board in her capacity as a naturopath to educate on current health issues plaguing women in general, and alternatives to healing.
“After much planning, the heart of the wellness event was established, for the ladies, by the ladies,” said D’Arcy.
She said the Rose Barn graciously came on board as a venue, offering a sophisticated and elegant appeal to every woman’s desire to feel valued and spoiled.
For the event, Pieter Kok fashioned beautiful orange, lemon, and lime centrepieces that captivated all five senses.
D’Arcy said he turned an already beautiful space into a wonderland.
Willis created a style party for the women to explore their creative senses, and refresh how they see themselves by using a fashion mood board, while Wepener shared her extensive knowledge on a healthy lifestyle supported by natural supplements.
D’Arcy got the women moving by hosting a barre class and then Potgieter served the guests with an outstanding harvest table, which was beautiful to look at, tasty and wholesome.
In addition to the wellness experience, each woman received jam-packed goodie bags filled with health goodies, snacks, vouchers, and health supplements from Organic Heart.
“The feedback was heart-warming to hear. Women are hungry for the correct information, and for spaces to feel that they have transparency. They felt spoilt and loved and some did not even want to leave the space we managed to create,” said D’Arcy.
She said that now that the concept has been established, they plan to host a similar event again later.
“The concept has been established and it would be great to do it again,” said D’Arcy.
