Crema al Caffè

One of my absolute favorite things to do when I’m in Italy is to go to a local bar and order a crema al caffè. It’s smooth, creamy and a coffee lovers dream. I love to sit in the piazza and people watch while I enjoy it. This recipe will bring Italy right to your own kitchen.

Yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

70 ml espresso

3 teaspoons of sugar

300 ml of heavy cream

Cocoa powder for dusting

Directions

Make your espresso and add the sugar to it. Mix it so the sugar dissolves in the hot espresso and set it in the fridge to cool

With a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip your heavy cream until it becomes fluffy

Once it’s fluffy begin to add your espresso and continue whipping without stopping

Put your mixture into a container and place it in the freezer for an hour

Place the crema al caffè into cups and dust it with cocoa powder. Serve immediately
