Set low speed needle to flush with housing. this will be rich but you can lean the low speed needle a couple hours at a time until you get a solid idle.

This will get you in the ball park then you can start over with the high speed needle and get it fine tuned, then go back for the final low speed setting.
Thank you for the great info.

Hi guys, just unwrapped my new Alpha 21 club racer ready to breakin tomorrow but after reading posts on here i think there is something wrong with the factory setting on the LSN, everyone on here is talking about X amount of turns from flush but my LSN is all the way in!
Is this correct or not?
Could anyone advise me on the factory settings for the 21 Club Racer?
All advise appreciated!!

Put your low speed to 1 turn in from flush with linkage housing and start from there.

Make sure you let guys know if they are the old stock parts on the Piston/sleeve sets. Some of the old stock parts had machining issues, they have all since been corrected but would be good for people to know.

The best buggy motor is the Z852, the Lutz and the A852 are good also but have more bottom. They can be tricky to drive on slippery tracks or with a novice driver.

Any of the .21's..... They all tune easy and get great fuel mileage..... Some have more bottom end (S852, A852) and some are buttery smooth (A872). The F850 is a combination of both.

I cant comment on the Z852 only because I havent personally run it yet.

My personal preference is either the F850 or the A872.

IMHO the best buggy engine is the Z852. but 10 min will be hard to make. i run it because of the power is spot on, so id rather pit at 8 and have the perfect power. i run the 0801 on it mostly but the 2090 with the L header with 7.5 stinger is a nice combo also

if you are looking for run time the Lutz or A852 is what you would like, both make 10 min pits for me no problem when running with 0801 pipe. however, these engines have alot of bottom especially the A852 so you will need a smooth trigger finger. 2090 helps with the low end.

also the F850 is in between the Z852 and A852 power wise, good all around engine. 2090 is a nice pipe to smooth it out, i like the 0801.

the A872 is very smooth on bottom and never tops out but i cant get the run time out of it like the other, its probably my driving style because i see people getting 10 with it. 0801 or 2081 is best IMO

hope this helps.

To me it seems the 2090 is a perfect match to the A852 and Lutz edition. I havent run the Lutz edition. Both of those have a very strong bottom end. With my A852/0801 I could manage 10 minutes in a buggy. The 2090 will help with mileage and will also help to tame the low end down some...
