With the advent of the smart phone, everybody thinks they are a photographer. But what differentiates the billions of common snapshots posted on Instagram from actual photographic art? Noted landscape photographer William Toti takes you on a journey of the different styles of photographic art, showing you samples of work by the masters. You will have an opportunity to view, engage, and determine for yourself whether the ubiquitous explosion of phone images has once and for all “killed” the art of photography.

Instructor: William Toti is an award-winning, global landscape photographer with a style that straddles the gap between a hyper-realistic, journalistic style and scenes of fantasy. He searches for that fine line: creative, even slightly surreal, but realistic enough to reach out and touch. His work has been published internationally, including in The National Parks Preservation Association’s Century of Impact book, in “Landscape Photographer,” “Nikon Asia,” and “N-Photo” Magazines. Some of his best African images were published in the book Safari!, available on Amazon. His images “Serpentine Vapors at Yosemite,” “Manarola at Sunrise,” and “Giraffe in Silhouette at Sunset,” have won first place awards in various contests.
