English Language Skills Daily Practice- Lessons & Activities- Grades 3, 4, 5

This daily language resource addresses the Syntactic and Semantic component of a Structured Literacy approach, as well as the cues and conventions required for grade 3 to 5 in most curriculums. Students will practice the 5 key principles for reading, speaking and writing the English language:

*Word Order *Punctuation *Tense and Time (aspect) *Determiners *Connectors

Included in this resource:

•20 weeks of Daily retrieval practice. Each day focuses on 1 of the principles with a systematic and cumulative approach to practice and internalize the principles for long term retrieval.

•Weekly Check-up or “Exit slips” that can be used for assessment

•Cover pages for each week so that weekly booklets can be printed if desired.

•Answer Keys

•An Editable Rubric

Learning Options:

• It can be displayed on a smartboard to explicitly teach each principle.
• It is also excellent for retrieval practice! Place sheets in page protectors to be used with dry erase makers, use as exit slips, or bell work!
• This resource also works well as Language Centers in your literacy block if you are using small groups for explicit teaching.
• Finally, it can also be made into homework booklets for extra practice.
