Edgar Allan Poe : Annabel Lee, LOVE POEM?? (Analyzing Author's Experiences)
- Google Slides™
Description
If you teach, or want to teach, an Edgar Allan Poe piece to your class, this is it!
Annabel Lee is Edgar Allan Poe's "love" poem. That may sound contrary to everything you know about Poe, but it in fact, fits in with exactly who he was.
The lesson will have your students exploring Poe and analyzing his poem to see if an author's life and experiences is reflected in the writer's work.
While there are a few pages for you to print out, if you so desire, this entire GOOGLE SLIDES presentation is set up for you to easily show it to the students and teach. It's clear, simple, easy to follow, and engaging.
Within the 28 slides, you will receive:
-the framework you need to teach the poem and lesson
-print outs of the poem for the students
-Filmstrip Assignment (handout and rubric) for the students to do (This is a great way to assess their understanding of the poem in a creative way.) It makes for a good display as well. Whether they do this with you, or on a day that you have a substitute, it's a great activity. It makes the students dive into the poem, stanza by stanza.
-Print outs of teacher resources about Poe just for you.
-Video links for the students to watch the poem in its animated version
-Video link about Poe's life
The slides literally read as a teacher's guide, walking you slide by slide, step by step through the lesson.
I hope it's as successful in your classroom as it is in ours!
