Description
Your students become foley artists in this no prep activity, being creative sound makers; as they watch videos, they re-perform the sound. Music and sound play a huge role in storytelling, and creating an environment that makes us feel like we are there! All you need is to project the slides / videos and have an assortment of objects that can make sound (wooden blocks, rocks, cellophane, crumpled kraft paper..)
As a sound artist and educator, I have personally used this activity with over 400 students–in workshops; elementary classes, middle school maker spaces, high school art & technology classes; gallery settings; and community centers.
