Companies that receive a Top Employer certificate are among the most sought-after employers.
The Telekom Slovenije cyber security operations centre, the most modern of its kind in Slovenia, received awards for the most innovative security solution in 2020 and 2022.
We have increased data transfer speeds to 2 Gbit/s in the fibre optic network, which is already available to more than half of all households in the country. We are continuing efforts to upgrade the network with XGS-PON technology, which enables speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s.
On 30 September we discontinued the use of mobile 3G technology, and replaced it with more modern and energy and technologically efficient 5G and 4G technologies.
Almost 5,000 people began using the eCare service, which is part of the Home eCare project. That service will be financed in full by the European Social Funds until 30 September 2023.
2021
This year marked the passing of exactly 30 years since we established mobile telephony and internet services in Slovenia. Telekom Slovenije and its associated companies have remained the main player in the development of these vital services ever since.
At a public auction for the allocation of radio frequencies for the provision of public communication services to end-users, Telekom Slovenije secured the radio frequency spectrum in the 700 MHz FDD band, 700 MHz SDL band, 1500 MHz band, 2100 MHz band, 3600 MHz band and 26 GHz band.
The NEO platform, which has brought new dimensions of user experience to Slovenian homes via its voice-control services, passed the 100,000 user mark.
In collaboration with ELES and partners, we have, by linking charging, energy and ICT infrastructure, developed an advanced systemic e-charging solution for the mass charging of electric vehicles that is managed remotely and ensures that the stability of the electricity power grid is maintained. This solution is part of the concept for the integrated development of infrastructure for the mass charging of E8 electric vehicles.
We have developed a solution for Zavarovalnica Sava that allows our mobile service subscribers to take out ‘pay-by-use’ travel insurance, with those subscribers only paying for the days when they are actually abroad.
We have upgraded the 5G network at some locations in Ljubljana with an additional 3600 MHz frequency spectrum.
In an independent Trusted Brand survey, Telekom Slovenije was the most trusted telecommunications operator for Slovenian users in the categories of mobile and internet services.
2020
As the market leader we were the first in Slovenia to take the next step in the development of mobile technology and launch the fifth generation mobile network (5G) nationally by using existing base stations and the 2600 MHz frequency spectrum we already utilize for our fourth generation mobile network.
We began testing an advanced technological solution in the largest optical network in Slovenia that will bring speeds of up to 10 Gbps to users with fiber optic network symmetrical gigabit connections.
Telekom Slovenije's Cyber Security Operations Centre received the award for the most innovative security solution awarded by the Institute for Corporative Security Studies in cooperation with the Slovenian Corporate Security Association.
Even when exceptionally tasked and faced with a high increase in the volume of voice, data and video services during the coronavirus epidemic, Telekom Slovenije’s network operated without any issues. During this period, we witnessed an expedient mass transformation of remote work and study, and provided our users with uninterrupted operation of services and technical support, responding to the special needs of state institutions and businesses for increased capacities and additional services. We also customized our range of products and services and participated in several initiatives, helping as best as we could to those in need.
We completed the process of selling a 100% stake in the company Planet TV, d.o.o.
2019
The independent test made by the German company P3 has shown that Telekom Slovenije’s mobile network is the best in Slovenia.
Together with our technology, development and infrastructure partners for smart city solutions we developed the central communication station in the form of a smart street lamp.
NEO, the platform for smart living, which brought a completely new user experience into Slovenian households through innovative management of TV and other content, and advanced smart home services, has won over plenty of satisfied users in its first year since launch. According to users, NEO is the best smart living platform.
We launched the VALÚ smart wallet which combines mobile payment services, transfer of funds between users, splitting the bill, as well as identification and use of local infrastructure services.
We fully upgraded our mobile network with the NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) technology.
We were the only operator in Slovenia to offer our users the latest eSIM technology in the devices that meet the applicable GSMA standards.
We completed the process of selling the 100% share in Blicnet, Banja Luka.

Ipko celebrates its 15th anniversary. During this time it has become the leading telecommunications company in Kosovo. The Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology SIQ awards Telekom Slovenije with the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certificate, confirming its compliance with this international information security management standard.
The European Commission includes Piran salt into the Register of protected geographical indications and designations of origin. It is the 21st Slovenian product to receive an EU level designation of quality.
Telekom Slovenije connects the first 2 advanced LTE/4G mobile base stations operating in the 800 MHz radio frequency band to its mobile network.
