What is Mat Pilates?

Pilates is a low impact form of exercise that uses controlled and precise movements to strengthen the deep stabilising muscles as well as lengthening muscles to give a long and lean look.

Your stabilising muscles help to support your skeletal system, in particular your spine.

The benefits are endless but include improved posture, increased overall muscle tone, better flexibility, easing/correcting back issues, improving balance and coordination and enhanced mental awareness.

I mainly teach classical mat Pilates which is its truest most authentic form as Joseph Pilates intended. Classes can be both fast and slow paced with the intention to work hard and even sweat a little.
