What to expect from a class with The Pilates Project.

I teach two styles of classes.

1/ Classical and mixed mat Pilates which is a more challenging class.

2/ Pilates for seniors / Gentle Pilates. This class is for people who struggle in a general class. Its also great for seniors, people with back Issues, arthritis, fibromyalgia and nervous beginners.

In a classical class - Classes will vary every week. We might do a strict classical class, a glutes focus class, a legs focus class, a standing Pilates class, an arms focus class or a slower stretch class. We may use equipment such as arm weights, small Pilates balls, large foam rollers or bands.

We will always use classical Pilates moves..... Generally in order, but also out of order and also include some modified "new" Pilates moves.

You will work your abdominal muscles in every class! Every move includes ab work.

You should always feel like you have worked out. This is also dependent on each individual.... Its up to you how hard you work. You should sweat a bit!

You will never come along to a "relaxation" class. There is no twinkly music, blankets or guided relaxation. Joseph Pilates never ever taught this in any of his classes. He wanted you to have a work out. That's authentic mat Pilates.

I am here to help! I can modify a move if you find it too difficult or I can give you alternative moves. I have 8 years experience of teaching mat Pilates so this is second nature to me.

Classes come in various forms. Face to face, online via Zoom or pre recorded classes. Outdoor is also available in the warmer months. You can also use my extensive online class library with over 90 classes so far. Mix of duration and level.

Beginners are always welcome! You will attend a beginners block prior to joining regular classes. You can also access Pre recorded beginner classes after an initial class with me. If you are very fit and able you might be able to access regular classes sooner.
