About My Clients
You know yourself better than anyone. You know your challenges, your situation, your relationships. You're just trying to find someone that can help you out of this rough patch. Things aren't working as well as before, maybe you're feeling stuck, anxious and stressed, and it is starting to take its toll on you. And that's why you're here. I will collaborate with you on utilizing your strengths, challenging negative thoughts, and empowering you live fully and fulfilled.
My Background and Approach
I work with adult individuals and couples. My approach is to first get to know you, your strengths, your resources, and what works well for you already so we don't necessarily have to re-invent the wheel or start from scratch. This can include tapping into your background, culture, relationships/support system, your daily roles and routines. Then we can explore what your goals are in therapy, including the obstacles that are currently getting in the way of meeting those goals. I will follow your pace of therapy while also challenging you with new perspectives as I provide a fresh pair of eyes to mirror back to you what experiencing. We will highlight and celebrate progress, as well as anticipate challenges so you feel prepared as you move forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a biracial cisgender woman - Latinx and African American, raised on the east coast, but lived in California for over 15 years. I am in an interracial marriage with my spouse for over 20 years and we have two amazing children. I'm proud of my oldest child who identified themselves as non-binary at a young age. I actively volunteer in the community, including being a PTA member of my kids' school and a board member of my church that is radically affirming of LGBTQA+, BIPOC, able-impaired communities.
