Shear Genius Hair Salon is founded in professionalism, respect, and honesty, from the managers, to the salon artists, and most importantly, to you. It is Shear Genius' role to both listen to and understand each unique client, their visions, and their personality. As well as to provide each, no matter their cultural background or how they identify, a comfortable experience.
To further ensure the best experience for each individual, Shear Genius Hair Salon prides itself in prioritizing artist training and continued education. All artist training follows top-in-industry education and techniques so that you can feel confident that all artists provide a consistently quality experience and are knowledgable on current trends and styles.

The Shear Genius Hair Salon is owned and operated by Ken Lucido. Settling in the Richmond area in 1998, Ken owned and operated his own successful salon for over 16 years. After selling his business, taking on an industry change and relocation to Florida, Ken is back in Richmond ready to blend his experience and skills to make you look and feel like the best version of yourself. With over 20 years of experience, his energetic passion for hair has kept him on the forefront of the latest and most creative styles and trends, including Hair Coloring, Precision Hair Cutting and Brazilian Blowouts. Ken prides himself in providing a warm, friendly, relaxing and hip environment for people from all walks of life at The Shear Genius Hair Salon.
When Ken is not working, you can find him traveling and spending time with his family.
ANGELA CONTE
OWNER & MANAGER
As a Virginia Beach resident for over 30 years, Angela has been alongside her husband to help him run and operate his successful family business. She has now decided it's time to venture into her own business journey. In partnering with Ken Lucido, The Shear Genius Hair Salon was created. With over 20 years of experience in Business and Financial Management, in retail and service industries, as well as in non-profit organizations, Angela strives for excellent customer service and puts customer satisfaction as her top priority. She believes the key to any successful business is having an amazing team of employees with the love and support of family, friends, and clients who encourage you to transcend all boundaries. She prides herself in offering nothing short of a relaxing ambiance and the highest quality of salon services at The Shear Genius Hair Salon @ Innsbrook!
When Angela is not working, she enjoys her time on the beach, traveling to new places and spending time with her husband, David and their two children, Christiana and Luca.
KRIS MEADOR
STYLIST
Krissy is compassionate, fun-loving and with 20 years of experience behind the chair, knows how to make every client feel like the best version of themselves. She specializes in Keratin Smoothing treatments and a wide range of color services. Being a curly girl herself, she also specializes in haircutting techniques for all textured hair types while teaching her guests how to maintain a tamed, frizz-free look. In Krissy's free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, doting on her fur babies and digging around in her garden.
APRIL AVERSA
STYLIST
April is a friendly, thoughtful cat mama who loves to make people smile. She has always been passionate about hair and truly values making connections with her guests. April believes your overall experience in her chair is just as important as making your hair dreams come true. She loves creating soft, natural, lived-in looks to achieve results that will look good for many many months! The health and integrity of your hair is her top priority and loves educating clients on products and styling tips. Before becoming a stylist, she graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies & Communications. In her spare time you can find April with her fur babies, napping, or at Target.
RACHEL FOLEY
STYLIST
Rachel is our newest addition to The Shear Genius team. She strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for all guests. With her bubbly and charismatic personality, conversation will never be at a loss in her chair. She has a passion for artistry, creativity and she loves using various hair coloring techniques to achieve stunning, one of a kind results. Rachel is extremely attentive to detail and will make sure you step out feeling confident and satisfied. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, coaches youth archery at her local middle and high schools and loves to snuggle up with her chinchilla, Vinnie!

Hi everyone, my name is Heather! I really enjoy working and running the front desk at The Shear Genius Hair Salon! Working with the public and seeing new faces everyday is a joy. Anytime you call to make an appointment, you can find me on the other end of the phone making that happen for you! I've only been here a few months, although I truly enjoy being the person to greet you when you come in for your appointment. A little about me is that I'm married and I have a fifteen year old daughter who keeps me extremely busy with her sports. In my free time, I enjoy doing anything outdoors! The OBX is my Mecca! Can't wait to see you at The Shear Genius Hair Salon!
