      Company Description by Circuit Assembly

We have a local presence in the US where we can assist with product design, engineering, and prototyping. After the prototype is set, we work with our customers to determine the best course of action for production. Our team is able to seamlessly transition production to our manufacturing team in the United States or China as needed. The firms we work with realize the speed and cost benefits of doing so and pass the savings down to the consumer. We are also able to scale up within our local US facility to support companies who cannot manufacture outside of the US due to a customer or government restriction.

Receptacles support SCSI and FC-AL systems.
New Product & ServicesIrvine, California (February 2002) - Circuit Assembly (CA) announces its new SCA-2 receptacles. SCA-2 (Single Connector Attachment-2) is a hard drive interface developed for SCSI and FC-AL systems - where devices make direct attachment with the backplane. The 80-pin receptacle supports the SCSI-3 protocol, while the 40-pin meets the Fibre Channel industry standard. Incorporating power, options block and data signals into one single connector on the backplane, SCA-2 receptacles, along with the mating connectors, provide a substantial reduction in costs to manufacturers by eliminating the use of cables. With SCA-2, manufacturers are able to use only two connectors compared to the previous twelve (three double ended cable assemblies and the mating connectors). These SCA-2 receptacles consist of staggered contact heights which enable the hot-plugging feature. Alignment guides at both ends house the advanced grounding contacts and also allow blindmateability. SCA-2 receptacles are installed on a backplane to mate directly with SCA-2 plugs installed on a disk drive. Circuit Assembly's SCA-2 receptacles are available in two tail configurations - standard through-hole pin and press-fit compliant pin. Circuit Assembly offers both standard height and extended height for its through-hole pin configuration. Headquartered in Irvine, California, Circuit Assembly Corp. has over three decades of experience as a leading developer of interface connectors and cable assemblies. The company delivers a host of interconnect products for multiple applications.
