About

TRAIN & TRAVEL is a local tourism non-profit which gives women the opportunity to participate in training courses which engage them in tourism.

The founder of TRAIN & TRAVEL, Bénédicte, has created a niche as a capacity developer so that communities can offer innovative solutions that generate income through tourism.

Since 2017, the non-profit has trained over 138 young women to work or invest in community and solidarity tourism. It is the first non-profit in Côte d’Ivoire that offers opportunities in sustainable tourism to young women.

TRAIN & TRAVEL hosted over 463 travelers from 24 different countries. Travelers who participate in our tours experience local life, local cuisine and off the beaten track sites places in Côte d’Ivoire.

Benedicte Joan
Member of the Collective, Founder

Explores countries and meets women entrepreneurs to find solutions for the development and promotion of tourism in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Emilie Tapé
Member of the Collective

Emilie is from Côte d’Ivoire and has 100 skills to share. She was in the 1st cohort and beneficiary of the women in tourism training called DUST (Becoming a Specialist Woman in Tourism). She fell in love with tourism as she wanted to go outside her comfort zone and add value to Côte d’Ivoire.She runs a blog where she educates girls about sexuality. In 2018 she published the book “Confession without a priest” where 10 women confess about their life experience.

Nelly N’Guyen
Member of the Collective

Consultant and project manager, Nelly has been a member of Train & Travel collective since 2019. Passionate about travel, she is a mother of 2 who wants to rediscover her country, to make her children discover it. Learn and participate in the promotion of solidarity tourism with communities, in particular women.

Alexandra Yepmo
Member of the Collective

Alexandra has been a member of Train & Travel association since 2018 and she is volunteer since 2019. She loves to travel and train the learners of the Attécoubé project in the values she shares with the association: solidarity tourism, equality, gender promotion and environmental protection.

Attécoubé Project

Project objective: contribute to the economic empowerment of women and the sustainable development of the community of Villages in the commune of Attécoubé through community tourism activities and eco-tourism in Côte d’IvoireContribuer à l’autonomisation économique des femmes et au développement durable de la communauté des Villages de la commune d’Attécoubé à travers des activités de tourisme communautaire et l’éco-tourisme en Côte d’Ivoire.
