An adventure and a wonderful temple and garden
We learned about this temple before we left home and had decided we wanted to visit it. It is an easy train ride to Maibara from Nagahama where we were staying. Then we transferred trains for a sh...
Sa 々 It is said that it is the family temple of the Kigenji and the Kyogoku family. The Kyogoku family owned Kitaomi and this temple was built in the middle of Kamakura. There is a long approach to cherry blossoms, about 10 minutes walk from JR Kashiwabara Station. 4 I visited early in the month, but it is currently closed.
The family temple of Mr. Kyogoku, who ruled the northern part of Omi in the Middle Ages. There is a graveyard lined with the graves of successive daimyo. The three-storied pagoda built in the Edo period is a cultural property designated by the prefecture and is magnificent. If you drive, you will arrive at the corner of the Ochaya Palace site in Kashiwabarajuku for a few minutes north. The admission fee is 300 yen. There was a parking lot.
This temple is the family temple of the Kyogoku family that ruled Kitaomi. Just the feeling of approaching the river and surrounding the temple, you can feel the dignity suitable for the family temple of daimyo. The highlight is the kyogoku family graveyard lined with 34 horokuinto towers from the kyogoku family. It's worth seeing.
As soon as you enter the temple, you will see a wonderful garden in front of you. It is a garden with beautiful autumn leaves. It used to be that there was water in the pond in the garden, but it is not now (it seems that the river of the water source collapsed). Also, there is a ghost hanging scroll in this temple. It's a little creepy and seems to come out of a dream.
