Business Development Specialist Duties:

  • Develop relationships and communicate with portfolio owners, tenants, and outside partners to maintain communications
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other leasing and sales personnel to augment current efforts
  • Evaluate the markets and competition within the region
  • Develop strategies for new acquisitions and renewals
  • Provide leadership and guidance to existing leasing and sales personnel
  • Attend to and represent the organization at various meetings, events, and conferences
  • Participate in community and charity events
  • Support other team positions as needed

Business Development Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business strategies to attract new clients, retain current ones, and increase profitability
  • Prepare sales forecasts, perform market share analysis, and prepare sales presentations
  • Implement marketing strategies including social media, email campaigns, and SEO
  • Work with sales team to qualify leads, transfer qualified leads to Account Executives, and close sales
  • Research and analyze competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, and update sales materials accordingly
  • Conduct sales calls, conduct presentations, and meet with clients
  • Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout sales process, assuring working environment is maintained at acceptable levels, and tools and equipment are in good working condition
  • Review project proposals and bid documents, and negotiate contract terms
  • Train and supervise junior sales team members
  • Assist with onboarding of new team members
  • Coordinate with company’s primary accounting department for invoicing
  • Maintain and update CRM records

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • 2+ years of sales experience in business-to-business environment
  • Ability to generate new leads through research, networking, and cold calls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and adaptable with proven ability to meet deadlines
