In January this year, Gucci showed their Fall 2023 men’s collection, the first since former creative director Alessandro Michele’s departure from the brand. Today the house showed its women’s collection in Milan and Vogue Runway described it as a show that “looked back and forward.”

One example of this came most noticeably through the small accessory department. Aside from the designer’s signature handbags and loafers, you’re most likely also familiar with Gucci’s other most recognizable item, the Marmont belt. The buckle is shaped into two Gs. There have been many iterations of the house’s logo belt, one currently available style being the Blondie, which takes a more circular approach to the use of the “G.”

Among the 54 looks of the new collection that debuted in Milan earlier today, five were styled with belts featuring interlocking Gs: One upside down, one right side up. Providing another new take on the iconic logo that references the past while looking to the future. Whatever your stance on the accessory, Gucci’s new collection begs the question, is it time to take the belt out of retirement? Here, three fresh ideas on how to style the Gucci logo belt for a new era.

Off-Duty Style

Here’s the case for adding the logo belt back into your off-duty uniform. Baggy jeans, oversized blazers, and black sunglasses are a no-fail outfit formula to achieve the look.

Casual Minimalist

It isn’t uncommon to wear a belt with low-slung tailored trousers and a color-coordinated crewneck knit. A logo belt and Dunk-style sneakers, keep things casual, polished, and bring the belt into our modern-day way of dressing.
