My grand daughter couldn't believe her eyes when she saw her new tablet, it was easy to setup and in no time she was on her own using her new tablet like a big girl.

Good Price for Good Technology

Very easy to set up and the girls find them interesting and educational. Also got a 16GB micro SD card for each so they could have plenty of storage for the various programs that are available.

bought this for my 11month old for christmas due to her being so facinated with touch screen phones and my ipod music device. simple to use device functional and grows with child has several learning areas that can be customized to fit childs needs. also several things for kids to do just for fun

My Sister has the Innotab 2 as well as the Innotab 3s Plus and she says the kids spend an hour or so in the evening enjoying them both. They'll change out cartridges, play a little while and move on to another cartridge. She's really happy with them. But before I bought one for my grand daughter I decided to evaluate the choices.

After reading a lot of OTHER peoples reviews everywhere on the interweb I had it down to the 3s plus, Nexus 7 or Leapfrog.

Leapfrog was in the forefront because there were some good things said, and it had a faster processor, but then I heard about everything else being an issue. Lock-ups. Not always faster. Terrible Support, and more expensive.

I looked at a Nexus 7 Next. A tablet for under $80? WOW. I looked great, and a lot of options with Google apps. There were things said about issues, but my main thing was, I think it would have been too complicated for a 3 year old. If She was 6 or older, I would have gotten that.

Now it was down to the Innotab 3s, or 3s Plus. I chose the plus, which was $20.00 more, but I will save that with downloads. Especially after finding discounts on promo cards. Plus, liked the wifiability. I also bought a little 16G micro SD card with it, so I could store the downloaded games I'd be getting. I even found some good, compatible stuff in the clearance section (little case, extra power adapter, pre-paid cards...

Getting it going.... I couldn't wait, so I wanted to set it up. I loaded the windows software off the CD onto our PC. Then I got online and ordered my two free games and some others with promo cards. I connected the innotab 3s with the included USB cable and watched while it said loading...... FOR 2 HOURS!!!!!!

I FINALLY just closed the Windows app. I should have known better. grrrr.... To get the latest and greatest software, you should download it from the manufacturer, which I did. I just installed without uninstalling the one off the CD. I don't know the versions, and it could have been the same, but this time I got better info. It had to update the firmware on the innotab 3s. Took a bit, but it went smoothly.

Next I went in to the download section and was able to select the ones I wanted transferred. It was faster than what others had reported. I was getting excited. :)

After I thought I had downloaded everything, I disconnected it. At this point I connected it to our wireless network which went very smoothly. Got back into the unit and there were still a few downloads to do. Or newer ones. Either way, they downloaded right through the units WiFi.

I'm happy so far. Touch pad sometimes takes a 2nd, or 3rd press, but for the price, I''m impressed. Still don't know durability, but I tried a few things and I think this was the best choice for my 3 year old grand daughter. Especially seeing it in use with my nephews.

NOTES:

1. Get the PC software from the site, rather than CD.
2. Update the Firmware.
3. Check for discounts and promo cards.
4. Compare cartridge prices. Many sources with good prices.

Time will tell, but I am not worried because Walmart is outstanding in taking back returns of defective items.

Just got one after a long evaluation.

We are giving this tablet to our daughter for Christmas so she hasn't gotten to play with it quite yet. Some things I did notice is that the set up is very quick as long as you have a good computer to set it up with. And once the tablet was all ready to go I played around with it and it's got everything a little kid will love. One downfall I did notice too is it takes a moment to switch screens so any little one may get frustrated with that. But all in all I'm happy with our purchase and I'm hoping my daughter will be too.

Great toy

I specifically bought this innotab 3s for the web access so that we could play not only the innotab cartridges but also abcmouse.com on a tablet for my daughter. I did online research and decided that since we already have the innotab2 with a bunch of cartridges we would get the newer version (3s) because "newer must be better". Not so much! First, you can ONLY access websites that are "approved" by vtech (not ones with flash/plug-in like abcmouse.com). And secondly, the web browsing is slow. (yes I know it has to do with our internet connection but boy was it SLOW). There were times when it froze because the connection took so long. So in conclusion, if you're looking for a kids tablet to access abcmouse.com DO NOT GET THIS. You will not be able to get abcmouse.com on this model.
HOWEVER, with that being said, overall we love innotab in general. Its a great little tablet for games and learning. The VTECH Learning Lodge that comes with the innotab is also great for activities and purchasing other games, etc..

I purchased this tablet on a Sunday night, and gave it to my Grandson Monday afternoon. He played with it for about 20 minutes (after I set it all up), and the tablet shut itself off. Since then I have tried numerous attempts to charge it, or at least get it to turn on. Nothing. Not even a green indicator light to suggest it is charging. Tech support was unable to resolve the issue and declared it defective. I will be returning to the store in hopes of exchanging it for one last attempt. If the store will not accept the return I will have to contact support once again, request a shipping label, return the item to them, and wait up to two weeks for a replacement. I suggest anyone who purchases this item pay the extra money and get the 2-year replacement warranty. Better to be safe than sorry. I can only base my recommendation on the short amount of time it was in operation. As for the reliability of function, based on how quickly it became unusable, I would not recommend this item.

A little disappointed

I purchased these thinking they would be great for my children. I has problems with the software download.

All three of the tablets had problems with the touch screen and swipe.

I ended up buying them real tablets and putting the parental locks on.

When I read the description, it said for children up to 9 years old. My 7 year old son breezed through the games at thethe highest level and he is average for his age.

I wouldnt recommended this product.

Nothing but problems

I purchased this after my 2 year old threw her Sprout Cubby down the stairs and it broke. I thought this was more kid friendly and cheaper so it would suit her better, but I was wrong. It hardly had any apps installed and I can't even download my own. All the apps on VTech's Learning Lodge are pricey and none are free. The Sprout Cubby came with many videos, games, music and the the ability to download apps from Google Play. Even though the Innotab 3S claims to have Wii Fi it's virtually useless and super slow. The graphics and apps available for the device from their website are ugly and generic looking. Since my daughter had the Sprout Cubby first and it was more vivid and entertaining, she does not play with the Innotab 3S...so it was a waste of money!!
