Therapy

Would your child or teen benefit from an assessment, consultation, and/or treatment to help them gain skills and improve their daily functioning? At WonderTree, our Occupational Therapists provide web-based assessment and treatment services to address needs, and help youth grow, learn, and thrive.

WonderTree Occupational Therapists specialize in assessing and treating:

 

  • Fine Motor: (muscle coordination and strength) which is required for tasks such as handwriting, zippers, cutting food, and catching a ball.

​

  • Sensory Integration: (sensitivity to sounds, texture, and touch that impacts daily activities) to support interaction with different environments, foods, and textures of clothing, as examples.

​

  • Gross Motor (sitting, rolling, standing) for infants and toddlers with developmental delay

​

  • Executive Functioning: (planning, organization, and monitoring) which is required for tasks that have multiple steps such as completing assignments and following instructions.

​

  • Self Regulation: to help with managing those big emotions that can make it challenging to complete or participate in our everyday activities.

​​

  • ADHD: which is impacting paying attention in school/ home and learning of academic and life skills.

Initial Assessment

WonderTree Occupational Therapists provide 

evidence-based interventions that are based on a well-done initial assessment. 

 

Occupational therapy initial assessments include:

  • Comprehensive review of the youth's history and current functioning

  • 50 minute interview with the youth and their caregiver(s)

Rate: $225

*Reports can be provided, and are billed at the

per hour rate for report writing

Therapy

Occupational Therapy interventions are tailored to your child's specific needs based on the initial assessment. 

​

Occupational Therapy session length and frequency varies depending on age and the presenting concern(s). Typically, sessions are scheduled for 30 to 60 minutes on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.

Rate: $150 per hour

*Sessions include 50 min direct client time plus

10 minutes for note writing and documentation

​

Occupational therapy services are not covered by OHIP, but may be covered under your extended health insurance benefits.  Check with your insurance provider for details (here is a list of questions you can ask).
