Love this hotpot restaurant. They have a happy hour specials of beef being $1.99, and it's so worth it. You can't package the beef to go unless you pay full price, so don't order too much. Their spicy levels are intense and the broths are rich in flavour, more than other popular hot pot locations imo. There's a lot of variety on the menu, and they even offer meat skewers.
Service was okay. We had to wait a long time at one point, but I'm not here for impeccable service. The interior is nice, and the design appears to draw inspiration from traditional Chinese aesthetics.
Free parking lot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1984229Oct 18, 2023
Wanted to try a new hot pot place in this cold, rainy weather and stumbled across Xiao Long Kan! The decoration in and out resembled Northern China and deserves recognition!! I love how unique it is here because we don't find many restaurants with similar decor here.
Service was decent. They weren't particularly attentive, but they did refill our pots a few time and was helpful when we asked.
Food wise-- on the pricier side. However, most of the seafood was fresh and the meat melted in your mouth. We over ordered and the total-- after the bar price, tax and tips-- came to $207 for two people. We got a half and half broth for $22 (mushroom and pork bone as we both don't eat spicy). We got the deluxe boat that came with 4 different types of meat. The diced beef however.. super chewy and I wasn't a fan. The veggie mix was $22 and a me with a good variety. The noodles were great as always. I found the scallops to be less fresh than I expected. My favourite were the shrimp sashimi. It was super fresh.. but on the smaller side for $20. But it was probably my favourite dish that night :)
The watermelon juice was $13 for the pitcher. Not bad for two people to share as each individual cup was already close to $5.
Overall, I would definitely come back.. but actually think about what's worth/not worth to order.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 30, 2024
My friends and I were craving hot pot, so when this place popped up we decided to try it out. We were seated immediately on a Friday afternoon, and we noticed instantly how beautiful the interior decor was. Ordering was simple, the menu pops up when you scan the QR code at the table, and once you submit your order through your phone, it arrives to your table within minutes. The portions were pretty decent, as my friends and I were all pretty satisfied at the end. One thing that I didn't really enjoy was how the spicy broth turned my teeth orange afterward lol.

Pretty solid hot pot place. The menu is really huge, tons of selection, you're bound to find things you'll like. They even have skewers and other cooked items as well. DIY sauce bar is always a hit for me. Overall we got a ton of things, and I really enjoyed everything. We got 3 broths, house, pork bone, and tom yum. The tom yum was definitely my favorite! They have a various private rooms of different sizes to host your gatherings. Overall I enjoyed this place and I would come here again!

After being here and knowing how old this building is.... Holy heck cow, this hot pot place is AMAZING~!!
The whole building was renovated from an old Korean Restaurant, and before that was a sushi resturant and EVEN BEFORE THAT was an old chinese restaurant.... This place kept the whole exterior, but the inside IT IS FULLY CHANGED!! I loved how it felt like I travelled back in time to the Ming Dynasty and be eating with my friends in a modern time. I really love this a lot.
The other thing I have to talk about is the service of this place. It is so out of the ordinary too. They give the full experience the first step into the door. I could not believe how they treat their customers, it felt like I was an emperor of China. On top of that, while you wait there will be entertainment for the customers. It is just a HOOT!
Then when you are seated, you go to a private room with you and your friends. The tables are LARGE mahjong tables with a huge hole in the middle for your hot pot. On top of that, there was a lot of space for you and your friends, and the seats are the true Chinese wooden chairs, hard and stable.
So.. usually when you think of GREAT SERVICE, the food is just going to be subpar right? WELL NOT THIS PLACE!!! The food here is just extravagant. They offer tons of various types of soup bases too, and tons of various dishes! Maybe it was the baijou that is speaking to me that night, but the food is just EMMACULATE! They offer all types of meats, cuts and on top of that all the various types of food you can get!! Because it is a hot pot place, the sauce bar is filled with all types of sides and sauces that you can get everywhere. On top of that, there are unlimited amounts of fruits that you can get too, all cut and sliced for easy eating.
At the end of the night, and your dining experience, you can ask for an ice cream. And from what I hear, they change every other month, and the one I got on this visit was Matcha. It was extremely dark flavoured of green tea and the creaminess really cuts through too.
I have to come back here again!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 6125416Jun 9, 2023
This is my first time being here. Both my husband & I loved the decor and setting. Reminded us of Asia. All menu or digital, so make sure you've got a phone.
We've ordered 2 types of beef, bamboo shoot, potato noodle as we are quite conservative. To sample more stuff, we ordered the new combo which was very well presented in a tray with 9 squares. It very cute with colourful bowls. The butter soup base, I've only asked for 2 chilli level but it was still spicy but manageable. The tomato soup base was excellent, the pork one is a bit lack of flavour. Food wise it's ok.
The server was very helpful. They offered us an apron after seeing us struggling. However when we ask for a knife to cut some thick chunky beef apart, they weren't able to do so but at the end offered us a pair of scissors. Maybe I was with my husband (Caucasian), the server didn't really interact much with us. But they were nice enough to fill up the soup and turn the eat off when we were almost done.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hanh N.WA, United States062Apr 9, 2024
The interior design is breathtaking, from store decoration to the table and chairs we sat on. They even had a dance performance that made me feel like I was in China in the past. The food was super super yummy. I really enjoyed the beef tongue as it was sweet and slightly chewy. The spicy broth was VERY spicy even in mild level.

I love the many fresh meat and vegetable varieties offer by the restaurant, service is excellent and personable; ambient is exquisite, stylish and clean. The tomato soup base is well prepared with lots of fresh tomato and delicious soup stock. High recommended. Plan to revisit again soon.

My favorite hotpot in Vancouver!! The spicy broth is the best I've ever had. My friend from Szechuan gave it 10/10 and said it's very authentic. I strongly recommend the large intestines, shrimp paste and sliced potato!!
