My grandson and I were a bit lost( I was relying on him and his compass) and I just had to have something to eat to keep going. I saw the sign for Kobe Beef and we went in for lunch. What a wonderful place. So many choices, so fresh and unique with sauces and ambiance. I will probably never be able to return ~ but I do highly recommend.

Well I cannot think of a better way to kick off my Japan trip by eating with my best friends in a late-night yakiniku place. And I'm actually quite surprised that it is open till 4am! Apparently beef was priced per slice and each piece costs roughly 200-300 yen, with the most premium one priced at 490 yen. This is way much cheaper than even the most rudimentary yakiniku place in New York, and certainly tastes much authentic!
As picky as me, I would say that I loved each piece that I have ordered! And all meat goes well with the special BBQ sauce. Have to make sure to grill the meat till half-way through, so that it is still tender. Our waitress was also extremely helpful and guided us through the menu step by step. We all had a lovely experience here!
Well done! Good start!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - GemzNGreg A.Honolulu, HI19109362Jul 22, 2018
I apologize for such a late LATE review. We had our last dinner in Japan here back in February. Hands down is one of the best yakiniku bar restaurant we ever found! Best tasting meats, simple but flavorful dipping sauces, and tasty drinks! The service is great here! Thank you for having us Yakiniku Bar Yamato =)

We come from Montana, USA, a state that has more cows than people, so we know what makes a good steak....and this place put our entire state to shame! I'm serious when I say this place serves some of the BEST CUTS OF BEEF ON THE PLANET!!! They say Tokyo has some of the best food in world, well this serves some of the best food in Tokyo, even the vegetable option was full of delicious mushrooms and other veggies! If you are an omnivore staying in this area, and are craving a little protein and unsure where to go, do yourself a favor and stop by for a bite...you'll probably just end up staying for your whole meal. English menu available, but when in doubt just trust the staff!

WOW! This place was so so good. They have such great cuts of meat and everything we ordered was delicious. We went towards ordering each of the marbled meats vs the leaner cuts and I can't even explain in words how good everything was just sounds. *drooools*

Yakiniku Bar Yamato was recommended by our nearby hotel, and we had an amazing experience there. The restaurant is bright and cheerful and VERY clean. The individual grills have a small strong tube fan above them so you can smell the delicious meat cooking without your clothes smelling of bbq by the end of the night. The cut of meat choices are very extensive (they have a well translated English menu), and we found the staff super helpful--we tried cuts that we never knew about on their recommendation. The food is TERRIFIC, the service is great, and the setting is very inviting. Highly recommended. Tip: I didn't see any English signage outside but it is only a couple of doors from the intersection, and you can see the high counters with grills through the glass front.
