Nice small bar located in dowtown san mateo. They have a lot of beer on tap and well as a full stock bar. I wouldn't call it a dive bar tho.. more of a local small bar but they are totally decked out in warriors cups and decorations along the wall. Happy hour is only $1 off beers and half off appetizers. So not too good on drinks but for a pitcher it was unde$20 which is not bad. So the group of us had the pitcher and went to the next happy hour location around the corner.

The bartender is extremely obnoxious, an immediate turn off. He almost seemed drunk. The creepy owners were hootin n hollerin inside the bar and starring very hard. When my friend asked for the check, the bartender patted my friends back and told him to not be in such a rush. Uhmmm Covid??? You definitely shouldn't be touching customers whatsoever especially during the pandemic. The cherry on top was the shitty mojitos. They tasted like straight up syrup. Gross. Strange service overall. I don't recommend and I won't be returning.

The eggplant parmigiana was excellent. The chicken parmigiana was okay. Service was not that good. Missed bringing my soup and we had to ask a second time for the broccoli starter which was good. Pleasant atmosphere with a lot of tvs for sports.

I've only ever come here for a drink at the bar, so this review is solely for the drinks and not for any of their food.
This last time that I came, it was because I had a strong craving for a Bloody Mary and I was hoping that this place would be able to serve one up, which they did. However, I failed to mention to my bartender that I like my Bloodys spicy, which wasn't her fault. But when I asked her for some hot sauce, rather than give it to me to stir in to my taste, she added a few drops for me, and then gave me back my drink and put away the sauce. The drink wasn't nearly as spicy as I wanted it to be, and I didn't want to make a fuss by asking for the sauce again.
I wouldn't mind coming back - it seems like a chill spot to watch a football game or grab some bar bites, but there was nothing about my visits here that really stood out to me as being anything special.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 163091387Sep 18, 2018
Poor waitress/bartender was a trooper being on her own but she made shit happen! Food was good, her customer service was good and overall my party and I were very happy with the experience. Carnitas tacos, quesadillas, salad and tortilla soup and green onion and potato soup was so good, it was close to homemade

Came here after dinner for a friends birthday and was rudely greeted by seemingly unwelcome stares. Also the "bartender" told us that we had to put all of our drinks on ONE tab since it was "too time consuming" for her to do it separately.
First of all the bar was not even full, I only ordered a glass of wine, my friend ordered a pitcher of beer and the only "complicated" beverage that was ordered by my bf was an old fashioned that came out horribly. I mean how hard is it to poor a glass of wine and fill a pitcher of beer. Please. Will not ever come here again and I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Also get better music and stop playing the same song multiple times in a row.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Michael L.San Mateo, CA124330Nov 18, 2017
It's been several years since we've eaten here. Saturday night and was just looking for a quick bite. Kids had corn dogs and grilled cheese. Thumbs up all around. I had the Cobb which was decent.
Service could be better. Kids were hungry and I finally saw the cook bring the food out and set it at the end of the bar across the room. Only problem was it sat there for over five minutes. Our waitress came by and asked how we were doing and was completely unaware our food had been sitting for so long. Place was a little more than half full so it wasn't that busy. Might go back if service improves.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rich S.Washington, DC0381Mar 1, 2017
This is a great local sports bar. Lots of TVs. All of the games.
The service is great and the bartenders--all very nice and nice looking--pour a stiff cocktail. Your beer will never get empty.
The only odd thing is the place empties out after a night game and is a ghost town by 11. I guess everyone gets their game on and then heads to Glow across the street for action into the wee hours.
I've had the food. It's good but not why you come here. It is nice that you can order pizza from Amici's a couple of doors down which makes the sports bar plus pizza combo a perfect 10.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
