I saw on Facebook that they were featuring a "Thanksgiving ball" but I don't see it on the menu. Do they really have this?

Long rectangular bar inside. My experience with the the bartender was, she was slooowwww. It wasn't even busy yet. Not happy hour and not quite "prime time" band time.
We decided it was too nice to sit inside so we headed to the large outside deck. Enjoyed my burger dinner and watched a band set up and the crowds start to flock.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Sep 18, 2019
Came here today for national burger day. I live nearby this place so I decided to come here since I never got a chance to. I tried ordering the Guinness burger without the blue cheese. I was told that I can't, but any burger in the menu can be altered. So I decided to try the hinchey burger.
The waitress was attentive, it is a Wednesday night so it's kinda dead. Burger was good but nothing special, I've had better.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 23, 2018
Started out at the long bar inside with a nice ice cold corona, perfect for a warm summer day. The end of the bar backs up to the outside deck area, and since the weather was so nice the had the wall all open to let in the fresh air. Bartender was nice but very slow, she spent most of the time on her phone.
My group moved out on the deck to eat dinner and our order was taken right away. I went with a fried fish very crispy and good. Fries and coleslaw were average. Switched to a rum and diet, it was made very well. There was a band setting up on their outside stage for a show later that night. We didn't stick around, but there was plenty of sitting in the yard and on the deck.
I would come back again to try something different and to check on the music.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 13Oh no 0 - Jun 5, 2020
So, I want to begin with a caveat, since this is not a positive review. This was the first weekend this place was open after everything's been shut down for months.
I mean reservations through Facebook and was told I was all set. We arrived, anniversary shirts so we had to stay in there for 20 minutes while they figured out a place for us to sit.
They are incredibly understaffed. You have to get up and go order at the bar and then they'll bring your stuff to you. Then you have to go up to the bar to pay and get any boxes if you need them. why they can operate a normal restaurant I only can assume because they didn't have enough staff it was not explained.
Ask for the food it was very slow in arriving. My parents order came out first, my wife and I didn't get our order for another 10 minutes. Appetizer came out with the entrees.
The garlic boneless wings for $13 we're not very good. There was seven or eight boneless wings and we got Cajun flavor which did not taste cajun at all. My pants tater tots we're not really seasoned and well done. The burgers were all well done. The fish fry was the only saving grace, it's pretty big and it was very good. Sadly the tartar sauce and coleslaw that came with it were both warm.
sitting outside was unfortunately the requirement which I understand. it was almost 90° out and everyone was dying no one had water. To get fills you had to go to the bar and ask for them. My wife got a margarita and I got to rum in Coke. Served in 6 or maybe 8 oz plastic cups they cost $20!
Ridiculously overpriced drinks, poor service and slow service, not very good food. outside the fact that almost no one else is actually open to sit down I don't think anyone should ever visit this place again.
Maybe when everything is up and running and smoothly they will iron the wrinkles out? from my point of view they Jack their prices up to take advantage of the fact that almost no one else is open. Any other restaurant any normal time of the year those women for $5 drinks tops.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Klein L.Rochester, NY19155158Nov 30, 2017Updated review
This have had definitely turned it around. The renovations done are amazing and the outdoor stage is absolutely the perfect place to be on a summers night.
Taco Tuesday is my favorite time to come here. The tacos are fresh and the choices of meats is between beef, chicken, and pork. Although you can't change what goes on them (corn salsa and beans) they are worth it for $2 a piece.
The "soon to be world famous" garbage balls are out of this world! I love Rochester and everyones take in the garbage plate but this place nailed it with a refreshing twist!
The customer service is getting better everytime I go. That's the only "bad" thing I can think of. They are always polite but sometimes good food takes a little bit longer to make.
Finally, the weekly specials on new items are found in their Facebook page and they always make you drool!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Oct 13, 2016Previous reviewWell, the new business model is here... and I honestly am impressed at the change to the menu but I am not impressed with the service.
I decided to hit up the former BLU bar which is under the same owners but under a new name. We decided to go on a Friday night around 6pm. Gorgeous weather was upon us so we decided to hang out on the deck. The parking lot had quite a few cars but surprisingly the place was dead. Maybe 15 people? On a Friday night...
Upon sitting at the bar, the bartender took our drink orders, gave us menus and promptly gave us our drinks. Kudos. But that was the highlight of the night. We finished our drinks and were waiting on staff to at least take our dinner order and to top off the drinks. Ten minutes pass, no bartender in sight. Mind you, the place is not busy. We stop a waitress and let her know the situation. She tells us she will find the bartender. Five minutes, no bartender. We got up and left.
This place is notorious for the bad service. I actually do love the place for its food when it was BLU. I really wanted to try the new rockin' balls and burgers here but this day was not meant to be. I will try again and update this when the time comes. - James B.Rochester, NY73832Nov 2, 2019
Went in on Friday for late dinner and listen to live music.
I walked in 815 and they had a $5 cover charge
I then waited 5 minutes before somebody noticed I needed to be seated. I did get a table right in front of the band, so that's was good
830 music starts. Still no server.
915. Still no server so I walk to the bar a was served very quickly
More great music and some people dance. Enjoying myself but still hungry.
1015 and another stroll to the bar for another scotch ale. Fast, friendly service at the bar.
About 1130 music ends and I thank the band and I head out in search for food. I think there is a BUrger King about 100 yards down the road. I hoped they would be open
Great music and a stellar bar. Food... I know they have some as I saw it on a couple tables... just not on mine.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Soum D.Northland-Lyceum, Rochester, NY1073771Dec 7, 2019
I'm not sure where to start, let's just say I did not have a good experience. I was really excited to try this spot, but it was a big disappointment for me.
I will note that they do have a nice outdoor patio, but when we sat and ordered our drinks it took a long time. The server took a while to come back after our drinks were finished, so I decided to walk up to the bar to grab my own drink. While at the bar the owner walked up and apologized. Although she tried to rectify the situation, and our drinks were on the house, the general experience wasn't pleasing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kristilynn V.Lehigh County, PA9444Jul 18, 2019
When we first walked in everything look nice. We had not been here before so we were excited to try it and I saw fried pickles on the menu- my favorite ! Our waiter was new so we ordered our fried pickles and gladly waited until our order arrived these were fantastic. Unfortunately he seemed to be the only waiter/waitress in the whole place. So I was forced to get up and go to the waiter station and get my own silver ware out of pure anxiety for this man watching him run from table to table with no other wait staff but what looked like a manager or leader of some sort. Our food came, and it looked good only we had no real service so we couldn't get extras like the silverware or ranch sauce or any of that. The food was a bit heavy for me but my husband enjoyed it. At the end we waited a while and then I had to get my own boxes off the waiter tray and clean off my small table myself so we could pack them. We then proceeded to wait longer u til I went to the bar staff and asked for a check.
I would recommend this if going for an event or to the bar area- the margarita was fantastic .
But not for a dinner date or dine in. I do hope they hire more staff for the future, this was an extremely uncomfortable evening due to the service.
I would maybe order out the fried pickles to go- but I'll probably just stick with Jeremiah's from now on. Nothing beats actually being waited on when your paying to go out to eat.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ed B.Hilton, NY4110334Jan 21, 2017
The interior seating is limited and poorly layed out. We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday and a portion of the dining room was unavailable as the 8 o clock band was slowly setting up and milling about. The hostess directed us toward the bar area which was partially blocked off and the high top tables unavailable because the had reserved signs on them for a private party that was setting up.
We finally got seated and ordered our meals. My date inquired whether there were other options for the burgers such as turkey burgers or
Veggie burgers and the waitress stated sometimes but not tonight. I would think that a place calling themselves a Buber bar would realize that there are people who don't eat beef but still like burger like substitutes. My date ended up ordering a chicken sandwich and said it was mediocre.
I had the 'merican burger. Bacon cheese and the usual fixings for $10.50,
Comes with one side. I chose fries, which were tasty, but limited. The burger listed some type of sauce, which I assumed was hot sauce but turned out to be thousand island dressing. I asked for meat sauce, waitress obliged but I was very surprised to see a $1 upcharge on the bill for it. This was now an $11.50 bacon burger. Sorry, but in Rochester meat sauce is a standard, not an upcharge. Here's a tip, don't nickle and dime your customers on what is considered a condiment in this town. The burger itself was decent, but not worth $11.50.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
