I wanted to grab some grub before checking out a movie, but I had no idea where I wanted to go. I originally decided to hit up some place quick that I've already been to, but at the last minute I decided to head to 7 Cities when I spotted them on the Yelp app.

It was a Saturday afternoon on 6/15/2019 and I saw they were located at the Lynnhaven North Shopping Center. Lynnhaven North has been undergoing an overhaul recently, bringing plenty of new businesses to reinvigorate a section that once was ghost town.

I was seated quickly upon entering and my drink order was taken at the same time. Their interior is cozy, but a little tight, but it wasn't busy when I came in. My server was friendly and answered all my questions, including questions about when they opened, etc.

Since it was my first time here, I decided on appetizer in addition to an entrée. Their chicharron de pollo (Dominican fried chicken) sounded great, so I ordered one. They resemble chicken strips/nuggets and were crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside - a perfect combo when it comes to fried chicken.

7 Cities happens to have a brunch menu, so I jumped at the chance to get an omelet. I chose the Oscar, which is an omelet with lump crab meat, baby shrimp, tender marinated steak & asparagus, then topped with hollandaise sauce. This omelet is delicious and the rice that came with it was fantastic, too. I highly recommend the Oscar if you're down for a good omelet.

One thing - if you're a soda drinker they don't have a fountain machine. They serve sodas in bottles with a glass of ice. Not a big deal, unless you're thirsty or against paying for refills.

Service was excellent and I enjoyed my experience. I need to go back but I haven't been in the area during their operating hours. Regardless, 7 Cities is a welcome addition to the area and is worth a try. JV

Just so we're clear, PEAK grilled cheesing took place today. The food deals on the door are what pulled me in and I'm so glad I stopped by.

They serve a variety of foods to include breakfast and lunch. Everything seemed so amazing! Walked in and was greeted by everyone, including the owner. Small & quaint. Lemonade was fresh out the pitcher & delicious (definitely slurped it down before I left). Ordered a grilled cheese and wow. Triple slice grilled cheese with a side of cheese sauce. Yes, I said cheese sauce and it was amazing! The sweet potato fries were also cooked just right, served with honey. Only $9 and perfect sized meal (and I took some fries home). I'm somewhat picky, but I left here fully satisfied.

Overall, simply amazing & I can't believe they've only been here about 5 weeks. Can't wait to stop by to try those plantain nachos...or maybe the chicken empanada...or maybe even the French toast. Endless (great) choices here!

Very small family owned business serving up fresh and very tasty food! It's located in the Lynnhaven shopping area - not too far from the Dollar Tree and Cicis Pizza area.

We were in the area for an appointment, and I asked the lady at my optometrist's office what they thought of this place, and they gave it great reviews.

The place is not huge but has plenty of booth seating, which I like. It's clean and cozy. They have a menu with tons of options - a mix of seafood, soul food, Dominican food, like - Fish & Chips, Maduros (Sweet fried plantains), Tostones, empanadas, wings, soups, salads, burgers, wraps, & sandwiches, breakfast food, desserts, literally something for everyone.

Service was very great, a young lady was helping us, very nice and attentive. The Chef who I'm assuming is also the owner, checked on us a bunch of times as well. I kept telling him each time too, that my/our food was so delicious.

FOOD. What did we get?! My mom had one of the lunch specials, which was a fried fish sandwich with fries. The fish (I forget what kind,) was super flaky and meaty, and coated and seasoned so well, and perfectly fried. The fries were great too. My dad had a cup of She-Crab Soup ($6) , AND Shrimp-n-Grits, which was surprisingly only $8 and a good size for the price! Cheesy grits topped with big shrimp in a special sauce. He seemed to be enjoying it so much that I didn't even ask for a bite. I chose the other lunch special which was the fried (bone-in) pork chop, with rice, and a side of beans - the tastiest beans I've ever had! My mom had a soda (bottled,) and I had sweet tea. She also got one chicken empanada to go. Surprisingly all that food was still under $50 and that's with tax.

Great service and food. I already know that next time, I'm gonna try their rotisserie chicken meal. Supporting a local and small family business, and having some delicious food = win-win! Highly recommend.

      Unique menu.
      Variety of foods!
      Every. Bite. Was. Delicious.

We will definitely be back. There is so much I want to try! The complimentary waffles were a nice treat and my daughter gobbled them down so fast, which is rare! She didn't even want to share them!

The Cali Fresh Omelette was flavorful. I had it with a side of Spanish rice and it paired perfectly.

See you soon! You have my recommendation!

Went to this place today when we needed something to eat. The staff was super awesome and welcoming. The food was so good and fresh. We will be coming back for sure and we hope they stay around for a long while. It's worth the drive from Chesapeake.

The food was very good! We loved everything! Definitely worth a try. The French toast was soft and flavorful. Eggs cooked perfectly. The different ingredients in the Cali fresh omelette worked perfect together.

Found this little spot on Yelp after a massage. My mom and I stopped in to support small businesses and we are glad we did! The service was good, the food was great! I had a chicken house salad and plantains. Mom got a burger and sweet potato fries which were amazing. We got my dad a Philly cheesesteak to go which he said was delicious as well. They serve breakfast all day so I will def be back next time I'm in the area!

New always catches my attention, so when I saw this place in the shopping center I had to check it out. I stopped in and ordered brunch, which was a pork chop , eggs and home fries with toast. My food was delicious . The pork chop and home fries were the star of the plate. I have to say they were some of the best home fries I have had. The pork chop was juicy and very flavorful.
As far as the restaurant , it was a little hole in the wall. Very jazzy chef and nice wait staff. Not a huge area for a large party but for a quick lunch or breakfast for a couple of people it works great.
My only complaints are I ate in and it smelled of urine. I went to the restroom and the smell was not there , so I am unsure of why the room had that odor. Also I didn't get all my food at once, my waitress never put in my full order so it was a few minutes after getting my chop and home fries when I finally got my eggs and toast. The younger lady seemed to be the daughter of the chef and was sort of shy, which is fine but hey just put my order in correctly.
Will probably go again but I would just do take out.

Had a great experience here! The kids got free waffles which I thought a great idea. The waffles were delicious and both my kids were happy. My husband had the Cuban which he loved. I had the Tostones with Chicharron de Pollo and a beef empanada! I loved my food as well! The empanada really hit the spot, so delicious I got 2 to go! My daughter had a breakfast dish which she enjoyed but after the waffle she couldn't finish it all. We will be back! Yummy!
