Best health food store in the neighborhood! They have a huge selection of hard to find vegan treats, fresh produce, frozen food, snacks, supplements and all the usual grocery staples. It's very well stocked, organized, clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Love shopping here!

Amazing place, so much selection of food, especially for vegans (although more vegan food is always welcome :))))) and most importantly a lot of zero waste products like shampoo bars and compostable toilet paper. a lot of check out lines and you never have to wait. lovely vibe too since it is locally owned and a small business.

A Matter of Health is very popular. When I arrived about five minutes before opening and there was already a line of customers waiting to get inside.
If you are into vegan or holistic medicine and lifestyle this is the place to shop. They have environmentally correct makeup, shampoo and everything else you can name. The employees I spoke with were friendly and helpful. I was fortunate to see the famous cat as it waltzed past.
I took a lot of photos and I enjoyed my visit. If I ever need anything specific I know where to come. I found the food prices above my means. I'm sure if you are a fanatic about buying organic you might pay the price. I'm not.
There's no way you can get a full picture of everything they offer without visiting the store. I suggest you visit if anything I've posted is of interest to you.

They have some great items that you don't see in Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. All their produce is organic, which is sometimes a bit more pricey than WFs, but not by much. If you like something there and you don't see it, you can ask that they reorder it. They did that for me and the item was there the next time I went in. I was impressed with that customer service.

Terrific health foods store with so many items. Great spot for vegans and vegetarians to also stock up their fridge and cabinets with a variety of options.

I was so happy when this store opened a few years ago and I have been shopping here since then. They have a great selection of organic and non-GMO food and produce, as well as a very nice deli and large pharmacy area. Plus their prices can't be beat!

I'm writing this in complete disbelief. I've lived in NYC for nearly 10 years and have never found a health food store that doesn't take advantage by GOUGING the wallets of customers until now.

Just moved to the UES in walking distance from A Matter Of Health and it might be hands down the best diamond in the rough I've ever found.

Here are the main reasons why:

1. All organic produce is FRESH, not mushy, bountiful and clearly labeled (also very aesthetically pleasing).

2. Organic produce, meats, dry and refrigerated goods are AFFORDABLE! Like actually affordable. I live super close to a big chain grocery store and they sell gross old brown meats and mark everything up at least 2-3x what they should.

Bravo to my #1 favorite market in Manhattan!

I love this healthfood store. It has a fun vibe and carries all my favorite brands. It is not nearly as cramped as some NYC stores, almost always fully stocked, and there is a large vitamin and supplements section in addition to the fresh juice bar, fresh hot soups, and a full regular grocery store. I would come here for all of my food shopping .. if they only had a senior citizen discount day.

Amazing grocery store with the best produce selection and the freshest selection. They have a great dry section as well with tons of snack options and healthy meal options. There are things here that I am yet to find elsewhere

Every time I'm in UES, I make an effort to stop by A Matter of Health. This is my favorite store for health foods and local health products. They offer everything you can think of and often have amazing sales. I love popping by, walking the isles, and seeing what products are calling my name. I recently discovered a wonderful local kombucha from Bushwick here along with CBD chocolates. There's always great finds. You have to check it out.
