Aava Dental Upland

I called my Dentist office at Riverside on Saturday November 21 and they were closed. The office manager called me back and she referred me to the office in Upland. I called right away because it was an emergency, Cassandra their office manager took me in there immediately and I appreciate their great customer service with Dr Chen and all their staff are super nice, professional and welcoming.
Dr. Chen referred me to an specialist and they were able to see me and took care of me as soon as possible.
I definitive recommend Aava Dental in Upland because they are "The Best"

I booked an appointment with this location weeks ago. I show up to my appointment today and they had gave my appointment away. This was unprofessional of them and a waste of time. They could have at least called with a courtesy as their cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to your appointment. To inform me not to show up since they had made an executive decision of cancelling my appointment for me. DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING TO THIS DENTIST.

This rating is solely on the office Manager, Noelia . I was being treated at a different dental office and left that office to come to Aava in Upland. I was in the middle of treatment when I changed offices so I had called in advance to let them know and spoke to Tiana. I explained what my situation was and asked if they can get my medical records (X-rays, treatment plan) from the previous dental office. Tiana assured she she'd take care of it. I was originally scheduled to come in on 6/30 but then I received a call that they had to move my appt to 6/29. Upon arriving, I met with Noelia. I again brought up the topic of my records from the previous office because I knew they'd want to take X-rays at this new location even though I had just taken a full set of X-rays a month prior. She told me they'd be able to look them up through my insurance. Once I got called into my room, X-ray tech notified me she was going to take X-rays. I then stated I had just gotten a full set of X-rays a month ago at a different location. She went to the front office and told Noelia, Noelia then walked in and said they had no records of my X-rays. Mind you this was a mistake on their employee Tiana as she was the one that assured she would get it taken care of when she called to reschedule my appt. I then proceeded to let Noelia know that I don't see why they would need to retake X-rays if they just needed to get requested from the previous office I was being seen at. She then rudely interrupted and said I would have to wait for her to get in touch with the office and told me she didn't know how long that would take, that normally patients have to request that from the provider. She was very passive aggressive as she spoke and as an office manager, that is not the type of service you provide to patients. side note: I've brought my kids here before and have dealt with her rudeness in the past however, it was my first time here as a patient. This (Aava) provider was referred to me by my husband's union and I feel the need to get in touch with the Union Trust to file a complaint on the type of customer service this "office manager" provides to patients. She was rude for no reason other than me refusing to take another set of X-rays. Of course, she couldn't bill my insurance for that so I apparently hit a nerve when I spoke up. I had left the previous provider because I disliked how they were handling my treatment and apparently coming here wasn't any better. I will say the rest of the staff including the Dr., were very nice and helpful. Definitely will have to reconsider my options after is encounter with their office manager.

Today was our sons first visit to this dental office and we came out extremely happy . Our children were cared for so well and we felt so welcomed. Thank you guys for making this dentist visit a breeze . The whole team did their thing !

The receptionist was nice. Everything else from this visit felt extremely RUSHED!

- [ ] Technician rushed through my X-rays and hit me in the chin with the machine. Then she couldn't get a shot of the back of my mouth; the dentist calls her out for it, she then looks at me and says the doctor said I need to open up more, we probably could have gotten through it the first time if she g had coached me through it a bit , I hadn't had X-rays in years ! Annoying but whatever...
- [ ] Then they move to another room for x rays of my whole head, and then to a third room across the lobby, fine... no big deal
- [ ] The dentist had another patient in the next room at the same time.
- [ ] They said I had cavities and they could fill them same day...cool. They never told me what kind of filling they were using or which teeth they were working on, they only said two on one side and a small one on the other side. I can still feel a sharp edge one of the fillings in the backcourt of my mouth.
- [ ] The dentist gave me ZERO warning he was going to give me the numbing shot in my mouth, just goes right in. I was STARTLED.
- [ ] The dentist stabbed my lip with the sharp tool they use to pick at your teeth.
- [ ] A different technician had the water hose thing and little suction thing and at one point I started choking on the water.
- [ ] Only doing the review now because the side they did the most work on is now sensitive when I bite into certain foods and sensitive to cold food. I've NEVER had this problem before!
None of this has ever happened to me at any other dentist office. Don't recommend!

Finding a dentist that actually cares about there patients are hard to find but every time I come to Aava dental they make me feel so comfortable. Always professional and they have the friendliest staff. They get you in and out. Love everything about this place and would highly recommend!

I had a great experience here with Dr. Chen and his staff. The facilities were clean and all staff members wore masks. I was immediately greeted once I walked in and there was little waiting time before I was called in. Dr. Chen was also very efficient at managing his time with patients. As I had my x-rays done, he was performing extractions on another patient. Once I was escorted to the treatment area, he was ready to perform the procedures I needed.

I'm very thankful for the quality care and friendly staff at Aava Dental-Upland!

I recently switched my dental care provider to AAVA only because they offered something that my previous provider did not. To my surprise, this was a GREAT decision.
The staff is awesome and so far Dr Chen and his assistant Gris have been a breath of fresh air. (Pun most definitely intended)

Yesterday was the first time that I have been to Aava Dental in Upland Ca. I absolutely loved my whole time there when you walk in the ladies at the desk greet you with a smile and say hello they were helping another customer but they still had the time to look over and acknowledge myself and my son. Noelia and Tiana are beautiful ladies with this great big smile they just make you feel welcome when I receive my paperwork I had my son and I informed them of my sons issues and they were so kind they did not treat my son any different they treated him just like a person which is really great because a lot of times you go places and they don't thank you guys so much you don't know What a great feeling that is Markie is the one I had the most interaction with amazing so amazing and kind everything that she did she explained it totally explained it I didn't understand she took her time and explained everything and was not frustrated she just took her time and then I got to meet the doctor Dr. Chris Chen so very kind he also explains everything in detail everything he's doing he tells you what he's doing which is such great comfort for a patient he's so very handsome and talks so smooth you just feel really comfortable there actually when you go to that office you seem like you guys have been friends forever even though it could be your first meeting that's how kind this office is I did not have much interaction with Gris I hope I got her name right if I didn't I'm so sorry she's also so very kind when she speaks with you but I love this office if you have not found a dental office you really need to try this one and I really don't think you can find anything bad with it but I really want to give an extra thanks to Markie and Dr. Chen They had to put up with me and I'm really a goofball thank you very much and again please if you're looking for a dental office call them and speak with them and make an appointment you cannot go wrong with this office best office best dental place in Upland
