Ace Chimney Sweep

We bought a house and knew nothing about chimneys since we're originally from southern california. When we used it for warmness/prettiness purposes, it smelled weird and yucky and smoke would always blow back into the house.

I decided to call Ace for an inspection and possible cleaning and it was one of the best decisions I've made! We have an insert that the previous owners installed and they pulled it out, cleaned the heck out of it and taught me the basics of fireplaces (awesome). They also installed an insulation strip thingy it was missing which was what was causing the smoke to come into the house.

Now our fireplace is warm and pretty, doesn't smell like burning plastic when we use it (Yay!) and doesn't cause our house to look like a bbq smoker. The guys were super nice and informative and answered all of my questions (i ask a lot of questions!). I will definitely stick with them for our yearly cleaning.

Ace cleaned our chimney for several years. We called them last year to clean it again - and called them again - and again - then texted - with no response. Not a good way to treat a loyal customer. We use Johnston's now and are very happy.

An absolute mess of a company. Ace is unreliable, unprofessional, with very little knowledge. They lead us believe they performed the work and t was completed when it wasn't. No difference! I have called Ace over 5 times in the past month and I have also left multiple texts. to discuss this. No response at all. I would highly recommend a different t oath for our needs.

Great service overall. I was very pleased with the professionalism of the employees that serviced the worker (I believe it was the owner and a technician). They showed up on time and finished within the projected time limit estimation.

The owner was responsive with communication leading up to initial service and follow up service. He thoroughly explained how he would perform the cleaning of the chimney and installation of chimney cap.

Lastly, the prices were very competitive with other chimney service providers in the area.

I had very high hopes when I contacted Ace. I needed some masonry work performed on the chimney. I contacted Ace, explained my situation and Ryan came out to give it a look. He called after the inspection, said work was definitely needed and he would get back with an estimate. After a week there was no word and I called back. The receptionist said Ryan was still working on an estimate and would be back in touch in a couple of days. A week later, still no word. I called and left a message asking for a call back to let me know if he was still interested in doing the job. I have not heard back. I guess it's safe to assume they are not interested or do not possess the skills to do the job.

Obviously others are satisfied with his work. I didn't get the opportunity. I guess they have enough business they can be selective of their customers. Bad public relations...

This company was wonderful! They were up-front and honest right from the first phone call. They discussed their very reasonable pricing from the start. They were very prompt with their arrival for service and explained everything they saw in our fireplace, as well as teaching me a few things about our fireplace. They took pictures from the top of the chimney and explained everything they saw and what to look out for in regards to that as well. To say I was pleased with their service is an understatement. I would highly recommend them and will utilize them in the future.

Showed up on time, took the time to answer my many questions about my chimney( I'm from southern Florida, I'm still new to this whole winter thing) and explained it all. Good job on the clean, no mess, good price especially with the value pak coupon from the mail. Only $109 for a cleaning, which includes an inspection. He also fixed the damper for free since it was just unaligned or something. He itemized and showed me all of the costs of repairs/ upgrades and why they're important. Took and emailed me before and after pictures. Will use agin next winter.

STAY AWAY!!! Contacted Ace based on their Angie's List reviews. Had them come out to do an estimate prior to some tenants moving in. Stressed the importance of getting the work done before the tenants moved in. Rearranged the appointment so the work could get done in time. Inspector came and said we had to pay via check as they said they didn't take credit cards (never had this happen before - will never fall for this again!). Was told they will email report of items that need repair. Was also told that cost of inspection could be applied to cost of repairs. To this date we still haven't received a report of the items that need to be repaired!!! Have called multiple times asking for the report. Got someone to answer the phone one time and was told they were out and they would get me the report right away - then nothing. Have called back multiple times asking for a refund - NOTHING! They took my money and gave me NOTHING!!! STAY AWAY!!! THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND YOU GET NOTHING!!!

Those guys were awesome! They were very professional, they finished in time with no mess! I highly recommend them.
