My Daughter recently moved to MD for College, and found this salon.
Her natural hair is very long, and was in excellent condition, before moving to MD, that her Palm Beach hairdresser even used her in a video as a hair model on IG.
At her initial visit with hairstylist Liyou, she coerced her into signing a waiver, convinced her that her hair was damaged, charged her $185.00, and cut off her long locks in a hideous Bob-style.
The owner called me back, and was very dismissive, and refused a refund.
Stay far away from these predators, who financially exploited young teenagers.

The business owner replied that I am just seeing my Daughter's hair after 10 days, when her Palm Beach hairdresser performs quality work with excellent products and technique, and her silk press last 2-3 weeks, as per this pic.
I pray that Liyou did not cause heat damage, and that her hair grows back from the hideous cut!!
Sorry for not teaching our child to be aware of predatory hairdressers, and how not to be financially exploited due to innocence.
Too bad she was too busy with settling into college life and school work to research quality hair salons.

Good Black Owned Salons are hard to find but this one has been hands down the best experience Ive had (and I've lived in 3 different states). Ive been a client since 2019 and have seen many of the stylists over the years. Yene, Salem and Nikka are my go to's but they all are fabulous! Even the front desk girlies are personable and kind every time. A hugeee thank you Aster who usually shampoos my hair. Best wash Ive ever had!!

I didn't have a great experience. My hair was clean when I left, so that's a plus, but Lehem, the stylist I was matched with (had availability) did not do a good job. I got the works..as she was flat ironing my hair, I noticed the ends weren't smooth, so I asked her to go back over them. When I got home, my roots were rooting, so I had to knock them out with my iron. 24 hours later, my hair was stiff and crunchy. I've been waiting to try this salon for years and will not be going back. My confidence in going back and leaving happy is non existent. I gave 1 extra star for Lehem's personality. She's friendly. If you book with someone you're unfamiliar with, ask how much experience they have.

Recently, I visited a hair salon and had mixed feelings about my experience. The overall professionalism and neatness of the salon were commendable. However, I was disappointed with the hairstylist's technique, which unfortunately caused significant heat damage to my hair. I believe it could have been avoided by either using a different type of flat iron (she used titanium) or by achieving straightness during the blow dry process without relying on high temperatures from the flat iron.

Although I genuinely liked the salon's ambiance, I had to make the difficult decision to cut off most of my hair due to the extent of the heat damage. I have been getting silk press regularly for the pass 3 years without heat damage. Despite this setback, I want to emphasize that my intention is not to discourage others from trying out this salon. It may work perfectly well for others who have different hair types or styling preferences.

As for myself, I won't be returning to the salon. However, I hope that my feedback will be taken constructively so that improvements can be made. Every customer deserves a positive experience, and I genuinely believe that with some adjustments, this salon has the potential to excel in providing hair services.

I contemplated for weeks before writing this review. Let me say that I tried a few stylists here before realizing that this just wasn't the salon for me, but the last stylist has really traumatized me.

I went to Liyou after a previous stylist did a perfunctory job on my style. The style was horribly done and didn't last me the ride home. The first time Liyou did my hair, however, I loved the style. (though she is quick tempered and not warm or courteous when you speak to her.) This should have been a red flag, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt.

Fast forward a few weeks, I go in for a trim, and she tells me that I would need more of a cut. I hear her out, but tell her that I only wanted a trim.

She proceeds to cut my hair into a bob style. When I expressed my dissatisfaction she tells me: "I didn't cut that much off." Typical gaslighting technique that is countered by everyone I encounter who compliment and question me about my "new bob."

My hair has never been one length. She cut my hair to match the length of my shortest layer and I'm devastated. I take pride in my hair and spend a lot of time and money to maintain my crown, but it's hard to look at myself now.

Almost two months later and I'm still waiting for it to come back :(

I am writing this to warn anyone thinking a high profile salon is above the base intentions of those who see the world through shades of jade.

I absolutely love this salon. Everyone that I've interacted with has been kind and professional. I've seen Nina twice and she does a great job of educating you about your hair and provides tips and recommendations of hair products and styling techniques. My first visit is what made me want to come back. I've been natural since 2005 and got off track with my hair care and had some breakage issues. During my first salon visit, Nina helped me to understand the importance of regular trims and washing my hair weekly as this helps with hydration. We also discussed flat ironing my hair. I was nervous since I heard so many horror stories of naturals getting their curls burned during the straightening process. Plus, I've never straightened my hair before since going natural in 2005. However, Nina did an excellent job. My hair looked gorgeous. It also reverted back nicely and no curls were damaged. Thanks Nina, you are amazing.

I've been searching for a salon for sometime since I moved to the DMV area. I never had chemically treated hair and i'm proud to say I'm Au naturale. My goal was to find someone efficient, knowledgeable and of course follows all covid protocols. This salon left me speechless. Im extremely proud I found Aesthetics salon. A team of highly experienced women. I love that they have different specialty's. Talytha where do I start? She's a full package and then some. That girl has talent!! They don't call her healthy hair chic for nothing. I love my hair days later as if I just got it done. I'm completely satisfied!

Please note: Save some appointments for me lol. The owner and staff are extremely compliant with the COVID-19 precaution. Upon arrival my temperature was taken. They also request hand washing before you are seated. This salon is immaculate! Wait list is in high demand due to the reputation of the salon. One of the stylist did Mrs. Obama hair for the inauguration.

Just went to Aesthetics Salon for the first time this weekend. When I tell you the vibes were impeccable... *chef's kiss* I arrived a few minutes early and they were ready to receive me immediately. This was my first time getting my hair done in 5 years, so I was admittedly anxious. Yene took her time and explained every step of the process. I have very thick armpit length hair, so I was nervous to get a roller set because I hate sitting under the dryer. I was pleasantly surprised by how short it was! I walked away feeling so glamorous and beautiful! 10/10! Absolutely recommend. I've already scheduled my next appointment!

I have been following Aesthetics Salon and Yene's work for a few years now. I recently moved to the area and needed a new salon that specialized in natural hair. I saw Salem and she was amazing! She started my hair immediately and took care of me the entire time (no multitasking between me and 50-11 other clients).

Salem was very knowledge about natural hair, and even told me everything she was doing regarding the treatment of my hair. She did everything gently and with care, and I didn't leave feeling like my hair was heat damaged or over processed from the blowout. I will definitely return! Gloria was also extremely polite and friendly when I called to book which left me with a great first impression of the salon!

I love how my hair turned out! Everyone working in the salon is beyond professional, kind, and caring. I would recommend Aesthetics again and again!
