Affordable Baths

This is going to be as honest a review as I can leave. Its hard to believe any positive reviews after what my wife and I experienced.

They started off by showing up late. It was almost 4 hours late. The demo team said they were pulled over after dropping off trash. They then started demo and were not on the same page. We told Craig we wanted to keep our floor and doors. The floors are marked up and heavily damaged. They did not protect them at all. Our closet door was apparently gone. Craig pushed some cheap door on us and made us pay for it. The demo company stole several rolls of toilet paper and bathroom spray. We also had a problem with the toilet. Craig promised us that the toilet would stay. This was a long-drawn-out event where I had to talk to the demo team's boss on the phone who needed to talk to Craig. I should not have to do that. We finally got our toilet back.

Next, we had a built-in medicine cabinet installed incorrectly. It was not centered with the vanity. A definite struggle to get this corrected. They needed to adjust the frame and fix the drywall. An inch around the cabinet looks horrible still. There are uneven spots everywhere around the cabinet. Its unbelievable.

As the process moved on it would take a ton of effort for my wife and I to get someone to show up. We would call the office and Chris would answer and tell us she would see what was going on and when people would show up. Craig was unresponsive most of the time. It was like pulling teeth. The crazy part is that my wife and I were so nice and just looking forward to the completed project, but Affordable Bath just abused our good will.

They contract with all these different parties and need to get them to show up at different times. At one point we had drywall being worked on, and electrician in the bathroom along with the plumber. This was because they were so unorganized. The people that showed up were so upset. They needed to go into the bathroom in shifts so they could get work done. I could tell it was not their fault, but we needed the job to be completed. We were told 10 days. It was well over 10 days.

Drywall looks like my child did it. There are spots that even Craig went over when he came for his final check and did not mention. We let it go because it was way too much and we were tired of it.

The final kicker to this whole thing is that they rerouted a plumbing vent pipe around the built-in medicine cabinet. This was never properly sealed and as rainwater drips in it makes its way to the sewer but not before dripping through the improperly sealed pipe and on our vanity from behind the wall. We had to remove an inch of drywall patch that was made around the medicine cabinet to finally discover the issue. It was such a slow drip originally, we did not notice it. Now its become a bigger issue. We followed up with Affordable Bath, but they will not return our call.

I don't know if the positive reviews are just really excited people who don't care about quality or these are just fake. It doesn't get anymore real than our experience. This was brutal. I don't believe most of these reviews. I guarantee if you hire this company you will have a similar experience as us. It was like this was their first operation and people were learning along the way. Lesson is you pay for what you get. Hire professionals not amateurs who want to save you money

Update 12/30/2020: filed a complaint with the BBB. Company has been saying they will send someone over for three weeks now. No one showed up. No one called. Beware of this company. Again, I don't think these reviews that have been posted are real. You will have issues with Affordable Bath.

1/8/21: Craig came over. He noticed my father in law there with my son opening presents. He said it looks like you brought reinforcements. Craig yelled at us, made my son cry, wouldn't leave. He was upset about the BBB complaint. He had no intention of fixing the issue. We asked him to leave several times. He would not listen. My wife called the police.

Bathroom remodel : They asked me to pick out shower walls from a business in CT, and other items like vanities abd faucets etc, which was fine, but then when I submitted them for them to produce a quote, as he said he would,, I had to email and call multiple times, to get an update , which I finally got on the 15th day of waiting. They were not taking the job it wasn't a good fit.
When I asked why no one ever got back to me to tell me I was told it wasn't a good fit. So... if you need a bathroom remodel done, I guess don't call Affordable Bath.

I had an excellent experience with Affordable Baths, Inc! My upstairs bathroom needed to be *completely* remodeled, and I was on the lookout for a company who would tackle the entire job for me - from gutting and drywall to painting, tiling, appliances, and accessories. Affordable Baths did just that!

Craig is very friendly and he was willing to sit down and help me select the paint color, tile, vanity, and quartz for my new bathroom, and he had excellent suggestions! Christine kept in touch with me every step of the way, and was always quick to respond whenever I had a question or concern throughout the process. Igor and Fazio expertly handled the carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. As you can see, this is a great team! :) Despite a glitch involving a shower door that didn't wind up working out for me, everything went incredibly smoothly and I'm thrilled with the results! I'd definitely hire Affordable Baths again, and I would recommend this company to anyone. :)

I honestly do not even want to give this company a one star review.  We were told the job takes approximately 10 days, which turned into several months and there are things that still need to be fixed.  The job started August 2, 2021 and went on till probably November.  Workers never arrived at the time they were suppose to, and only stayed on average for 4 hours or less.  We have had so many issues with things the carpenter has done wrong.  He damaged the floor, and the fix was to fill it with some kind of filler and Craig said he would not be replacing the tile. The floor tiles are not flat, some have raised corners and none are evenly spaced.   He cut the baseboard wrong, and again...quick fix, filled with wood filler and painted.  Right now, the biggest issues that are still ongoing is the bathroom door.  The floor is not level (which they installed, including sub floor), which meant the door frame would have had to be installed to accommodate this, but it wasn't, so the door would not stay open.  Instead of fixing the frame correctly, they sent the carpenter back to bend the hinge pins, now there is just gaps around the door and you can see how unlevel it is.  Another issue is the heater vent cover that the carpenter felt would be better to secure it to the wall permanently because he obviously was not installing it properly and now it can not be removed to clean inside the vent, or the vent itself.  Also, the slider to adjust the vent does not open completely, it will only go up half way, which when I pointed this out to Craig, he tried to tell me it was normal.  At one point Christine told me that they would send out a different contractor, but that never happened, and they have totally ignored emails, calls, and even the Better Business Bureau.  They are very unprofessional and Craig is very arrogant.  My best advice is to stay clear of this company.  I have saved every email saying they would correct the issues, as well as pictures
