Mike Brown will scam you! He was going to fix our foundation but never did. Priced our job for 2,200 dollars after seeing our house on 2 separate occasions. We paid half upfront because that was in the contract. Then came to do the job and said the house was to close to the ground and needed 4,000 more dollars. We declined and just wanted our money back. Nope. He said we have to keep the material that he up charged and only gave back 138 dollars. So we paid 962 dollars for material that only cost 700. He will con you. DO NOT GO HERE!

Only give a 1 star because 0 isn't an option. They performed waterproofing work on my home that resulted in significant damage to my foundation, which costs me $7k to repair. Mr. Brown said he didn't know me or do work for me. I went through the BBB and documented all of the work done that was done improperly and the repairs, plus copies of check payments to him for his work. BBB recommended that I take them to court and revoked his membership. Mike Brown still states he doesn't know me and didn't do work for me. I do not use labels typically... however, I feel the label liar is appropriate! WARNING, DO NOT TRUST THEM!

I made a HUGE mistake choosing Affordable Waterproofing and Foundation Repair. The company is NOT a licensed contractor & DOES NOT have any insurance! They were the 1st vendor to do any work on a home i purchased Jan.2018. Learned my lesson the hard way & now know what to look for. I have 2 basements in my home which were both leaking. Their main sales rep Brad said the best option for my basements was to dig up my yard and put a french drain & sump pump on outer walls. I trusted Brad & told them to proceed. I have since researched & an exterior french drain/ sump pump is practice rarely used in the industry anymore due to not working well & is very hard to access if repair if needed. There was little communication whatsoever between Brad & hot headed owner of the company who runs the team Mike. They completed the job leaving a HUGE mess. I had to force them to clean up because Mike said that is not their job. About a month later we had some rain and my basement was leaking. I reached out to Brad multiple times with no solid response & finally after calling for weeks him & Mike came to look at the leaks that were in the same spots that they originally did work on. Mike was overly nice in a aggressive way that made me feel uncomfortable, almost like he was being forced to be there by Brad. Either way it took them way to long on response with the issue pertaining to their guarantee. All they did to fix was put an exterior tar on the bottom interior of my basement walls. After a few weeks I again noticed leaking from the same spots in both basements due to peeling tar. I called Brad again for about 2 months & was given an excuse with no follow up every time. Once I was called back Brad gave me an extremely inappropriate story on why he had not called me back. It was seriously the grossest thing I have heard in a while... Brad came out to my house days later & told me to make sure he held up their guarantee he would see if he could talk Mike into installing an interior french drain and sump pump since the one outside didn't stop water. He also stated that since he had taken so long to get back to me & this was the 2nd issue I had so far that he would continue the french drain down the entire front wall of the 2nd basement even though i only paid for a quarter of it. He measured all walls, then left telling me he would get with Mike. Days later he confirmed that it took a lot of work but he was able to convince Mike that coming out and doing the Job was the right thing to do. Brad said Mike & his team had time the next day to do the work & asked if that was okay? At this point i am no longer new to the game and stated that as long as you can provide me proof of insurance I am okay with work being done to my home. Brad said Mike would have the insurance to me by end of the day. 6pm came and no insurance. I called Mike & left VM. He called me back hr. later & had the agitated overly happy tone like the 1st time. He told me Brad didn't want to do the job but he was able to talk Brad into getting me a interior french drain and sump pump installed. I asked myself, why are these guys lying to me about who had the idea or who had to talk who into doing the job..More importantly, If they lied to me about something this simple, then what else are they lying about? I asked Mike about the insurance. He said that they haven't had insurance since Oct.2017. Mike said he doesn't need insurance in NC & arrogantly asked me to look up where it says he does. Brad, Mike & team showed up next morning. Mike said he was not going to finish the xtra wall Brad said they would complete due to the inconvenience. I asked why his company rep would of told me that then? Mike cussed me out, threw his stuff in the back of his truck trying to leave. He told me to take him to court.. Brad calmed him down enough to stay. Brad also was unaware & upset of insurance issue. A few more major communication fails. I asked their entire team to get off of my property as i didn't feel comfortable having them do any more work on my home.
