I had had a long standing problem with my gate: the tolerance between the drop bar and the sleeve was too small. Mark asked Steve to come out and diagnose the problem which he did in 30 sec. He was foreman on an install crew for 15 years and has a wealth of experience. He told me that they needed to take the sleeve out of the concrete, reposition a new slightly larger sleeve, and then re-concrete the sleeve back in place. The drop bar was frozen in the sleeve due to the small tolerance. I had had this problem since the fence was installed so when I explained to Steve and Mark, Steve went to bat for me with Brent Stewart, the owner, and due to Brent's kindness and his generosity, it wound up costing me nothing. I appreciated very much his kindness and when I spoke to Steve about how best to thank Brent, he suggested that I thank him publicly and so, I am. Thank you Brent for your kindness.

If I could leave a 0 star rating, I would. I called in the fall to have gates put in to match the fence that they put in 4 years ago. Jay came by to measure and I never got an estimate from them. I blew that off until this spring because we had to have some work done that required bulldozers and other large equipment. I called again this month, the same guy came out and measured on March 9...and again, I never heard anything from them. I called again today (15 days later) to see what the estimate was and get the project scheduled and was told that they would not be able to do the gates. No explanation was given other than that. When I asked why no one contacted me about it, I was told that they left a message on my phone. I double checked to make sure I didn't miss something and no message was ever left on the day they said it was. I was told to call Custom Iron Works instead. This has been a very frustrating experience as we are trying to sell our home and I figured that the best way to get matching gates would be to contact the same fencing company that put in the rest of the fences/gates in the first place. Evidently, I was wrong. If you want to get anything done, take All State Fencing's advice and call Custom Iron Works!

Over the last 3 weekends my wife and I put up a board on board wood fence using 6" x 7' cedar pickets and other lumber from All-State Fence on Slide road in Lubbock, TX. We ended up purchasing 352 pickets, well below their estimate and I was told I could bring extras back. We stored the pickets in our garage as we were using them. Every one we dealt with was friendly and helpful. My issue came up when I went today to return 42 of the extra pickets THEY sold me. I was then informed of their "cull policy". Basically if there was a split, regardless of size and if the split was there when they sold the board, they will not accept it back. Out of my 42 boards, they "culled" 17 and refunded 25. The double standard here is that you can't cull the boards they sell you but they can cull the boards they allow you to return. So for anyone dealing with All-State Fence only buy your lumber in small orders, using your own estimates because you may end up being a victim of their cull policy. In my case it was a difference of $117.30. Because of this, I will not be buying the fence stain that I had planned to buy from them at $187 per 5 gallons at 10 plus gallons . It is simply a matter of principal in my opinion.

Mr. Robert
You are a valuable customer and we appreciate your business.
We have been in business for four decades and our cull policy has always been consistent. We sell supplies to many fence companies and to many do-it-yourselfers. We sell a better quality picket than box stores; however, we do not allow anyone to pick through the bundles and grab the best boards. If we allowed customers to pick through bundles; this would leave the next customer with inferior boards. In box stores; the first customer who goes through a bundle will leave #3 grade or worse pickets for the next customer which is not fair. Our boards are not only a better quality board; everyone gets the same quality boards since we do not allow anyone to pick through our boards. Our prices are based on selling every board in the bundle which includes the purchase of a small percentage of culls. We sell the same method as we purchase (there will be a small percentage of culls in a bundle). Since everyone has a different idea of what a cull is; they are free to buy as many or few boards as they need to get the quality of fence they desire. However, the pickier a customer is; the more boards they will need to purchase which will result in more culls they will have to purchase. We do accept the return of good boards but not the culls which we cannot resell. We can’t put cull boards on a new bundle giving the next customer an inferior grade of lumber. We have our cull policy displayed for everyone to see. We also instruct our salesman to inform new customers’ of this policy which they normally do unless they are very busy with customers. I hope that you can now better understand why we do not accept cull boards as return items. If we did accept cull boards; we would either be forced to go way up on the prices of our boards or go out of business.
Sincerely,
All-State Management - bridgett a.Anton, TX12372Oct 19, 2019
We came to get out cyclone fence material and we didn't have a clue about what to get. A young man named Andy helped us so much. He got together all the materials we would need. He even explained some of the things we needed to know that we had no clue about. Extremely helpful young man. Thank you. Highly recommend this place.

They repacked the back fence around a year ago. It now needs some repairs so I requested a quote along with replacing a broken post and replacing a gate. Their quote was for almost $800. Needless to say I won't be using them or recommending them.

My 86-year-old Mom chose All State for a fence to be placed around her backyard. When the workers got to her home, she told them she wanted the railing on the inside of her yard. She also told the "guy in charge" to put the latches on the inside, so she would have access to the alley.
When they finished, the railing was on the outside. She said the guy just said he'd "take care of it". (Guess he's too smart to listen to the customer). The latches were on the outside, so I called and the latches were put on like she requested. After looking at the gate, the wood is so thin I'm hoping the panels don't get destroyed in a small wind storm. No idea if they do all their customers like this, or if it was because she is small and elderly. Definitely won't use them for my home or rent houses!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mr. M.Portland, OR125754May 24, 2016
Fence was installed quickly (one day for posts and for concrete to set), then two days later, they came back and had the pickets up within 4 hours. Had an issue with the group they had pour the concrete footer (at $700 extra), they buried the majority of my sprinkler heads and busted another line. I took the time to mark their locations with paint and flags but it was of no use. For paying a premium, I would've expected a bit more care.
On the alley side of my property, they dumped the remaining concrete to harden on my existing concrete alley so now it looks like crap. They also left all of their 2x4's in my NEIGHBOR'S yard. The two guys that worked on the fence were extremely nice, but the concrete guys left a lot to be desired. The grass behind the fence (on the alley side) is not worth anything after they were done.
For just under $3000, I'd consider going elsewhere.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dean R.Paso Robles, CA421Nov 18, 2018
This company was one of the most user-friendly ever. We live out of state & all work was began & completed entirely on-time. Very professional, looks great from local friends & family whom we trust. Looking forward to additional fencing projects in the future with this group. Thank you, Jeannine & Dean R. California

If you're a do it your selfer, this is a great place to buy fence materials.
The first time I built a fence for my house, the staff at All-State walked me through the entire process. If you're not inclined to building, they can can build a pretty awesome fence as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
