I have worked with AM/PM for nearly 23 years since starting as a property manager in the warehouse industry. They have helped us service our roll-up doors, overhead doors, man doors, and gates for more years than I've worked at this position. They have always been very professional and competitive in their cost. Kelvin, Curtis, Mike, Jess, Fernando, and Steve are just a few names of the ownership and staff I've had the pleasure to work with over the years. I highly recommend you give them a call!! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Joshua Williams was thorough and precise. He had my entry door repaired very quickly with his assistant. Repaired door is a large commercial entry door with floor closer and backstop. Would definitely recommend AM/PM Door, professional and courteous.

This company serviced my gate for many years. I recently called them for some upgrades. I called four times. I left four messages with their Office. They recognized me from my phone number so I know I was calling the right company. No one has ever called me back. I'm not thinking that customer service is their strong suit.
Update.....yes, they did email and call. Emailed to the wrong address and called an unattended number, even though I gave my new number and verified my email address, a few times, to whomever answers the phone.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This company tops my list as the worst company I have ever worked with.
(And I just built two high end recording studios... so I've worked with a lot of people.)
We were having trouble with our gate in a tight alley, where there is not enough extra space for the gate to recognize and then reverse itself after a car driving through triggers the sensors. It has hit two vehicles so far. So our friends that own a high end storage facility in Hollywood highly recommended to call AM/PM Gates.
AM/PM sent out a technician to do a routine maintenance check (which included checking chain slack and open/close adjustments) and take a look at our sensor situation. (And the cost was twice as much as the last three gate companies I have used averaged. And less work performed.) Cost aside, I was looking for knowledge and quality of service, not some cheap deal. AM/PM Gates looked like they could be that company.
Instead, as of this morning I have tallied FOUR NO SHOW APPOINTMENTS. Not even a pre-warning phone call. No phone call, for days, and for weeks. And I was there, waiting for them every time.
To back track a little, they recommended we install an Optex Sensor to help our issue, so I agreed to the quote and they came out to install it. (Not a cheap sensor like a laser beam reflector.) They were at my building for the whole day, at which point the technician said he couldn't make it work and would need to come back the next day. That was the first no show.
And after two more no show appointments and FIVE WEEKS LATER, I called the owner Kelvin of AM/PM Gates to fire them from the job, but Kelvin himself made an appointment for this morning, and said he was going to come out and make things right.
Then guess what... THE OWNER WAS A NO SHOW. No call. Nothing.
And a little sprinkle on top of it all, they love to put a big AM/PM sticker on your gate, with no permission to do so. Before I even walked out to greet them on the very first appointment, before they had even done work on my gate for the first time, the technician claimed a sticker on my nice new gate. No permission asked. That's considered vandalism folks.
And that sticker won't come off easy... cheers.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

These guys did an excellent job on our doors. We have a small shop in SCV with several aluminum frame commercial doors and one glass storefront door. They showed up on time as scheduled and got to work. When they couldn't complete the task on day one because the glass door was too heavy for one technician they sent two guys the next morning. DONE!
Nice, professional and competent craftsman

Came back in town to find a broken spring. Could have/should have fixed it myself but so busy I decided to trust this company to handle it. Said it would be about $300 when I called. Seemed high but to get it fully working I decided to do it.
They came the next day and fixed the spring and removed a rail so I could get the door open. Said he (owner!) wasn't familiar with the brand motor I had. Said he could figure it out but didn't have time so he left. $360 bill. $150 for labor - fair. $30 for parts - fair. $180 for "same day" service call. Wasn't same day. Wasn't an emergency either. Which I explained. I had another car to use.
Tried to upsell me on a very expensive motor then left.
I spent 20 min on YouTube, researched the motor myself and reset the system, adjusted it, remounted the rail and it's been working great for over a month. $360 for me to actually fix what he "professional" and "owner" should have done.
I called to complain about bill and was threatened with legal action if I didn't pay. I'm fine with paying for what it got. A replaced spring and helping me get the door open. Not fine with a $180 extra charge for "same day service" which wasn't same day service.
Be weary of this company and don't sign anything until the work is actually done.
Owner was friendly just not honest, and apparently not very knowledgeable. $360 would have been worth a 100% fully operating door. Not a half done job that he blew off which I had to finish.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Sean - We appreciate the opportunity to service you. We were contracted by you and received a signed invoice for $360.00 which you did not pay. We replaced the springs as you detailed in the scope of work which you signed as well. Now you do not want to provide full payment you are hanging this bad review in hopes of skating with free material & labor. Its unfortunate and I wish you the best in your future door & gate services. Kind Regards,

I called these guy's based on their 5 star reviews. I'm impressed. They got right back to me. I sent Mike pictures of our front door closer. He called back right away. He explained why it's bad and the cost of replacement. They came out the same day. Replaced the closer in about an hour and at the quoted price. The technician that came out was knowledgeable & very nice. I will definitely use them next time!!!

You are welcome, Sara. Thank you. Happy New Year!
Updated 12/20 REPLY addressing your UPDATED 12/19 review:
Hi Sara - Since you have taken the time to update your review & attack the reputation of a company that has been loyally serving its customers for 35+ years, let us be fully transparent.
Your management company/property owner contacted us for a repair of your wooden door jamb. We reached out to you promptly as your security is our top priority & kindly requested pictures showing ALL the damages, in order to dispatch a technician with the correct materials to provide the repair or replacement or replacement of the door jamb.
Upon arrival, our Technician found additional visible damages that you neglected to provide. Instead of pulling off the job & leaving your entry door unsecured with your security at risk, we fabricated a custom jamb/latch protector onsite to serve as a temporary fix until the correct materials can be sourced in order to provide a permanent solution.
With your best interest in mind, we advised your manager of this situation & they approved of a temporary repair as we recommended until we can source the correct materials to accommodate the damages hidden from us. Instead, we receive a negative Yelp review (for a job that isn't complete yet) when we attempted to do the right thing with your best interest & security in mind.
We initially asked for full-length pictures showing the damages in its entirety, but you sent us a picture of your wooden door frame with only (1) damaged lock hole. We planned for the repair of (1) the damaged lock hole as communicated by you, but upon arrival, there were (2) lock holes in addition to extreme hidden jamb damage near the bottom of the frame. If you were truthful with us from the start & instead of downplaying damages, it would have been fixed the same day.
Your property manager was very understanding of the situation & it is puzzling to them & to us why you’d leave this untruthful review. We take each & every customer’s security very seriously & we are also puzzled as to why you’d bad mouth our company & take things publicly when we did the right thing in YOUR best interest.
This whole situation could have been avoided if you took a picture showing the entire damaged area rather than hiding it & being dishonest. We’d never, ever, treat our customers the way you have treated us. We greet each and every customer with respect & integrity. We tried to reach out to you to communicate the aforementioned facts but you were extremely rude & did not want to hear a word we had to say.Dec 22, 2022Previous reviewThat was the entire damage. That small part Your company put an entire huge plate and there was no other damage to the door. So I'm not sure what you're speaking about . As far as pictures I will upload pictures soon . Entire damage? I don't think so . Don't down play your unprofessional business
Dec 19, 2022Previous reviewThere was no miscommunication this is what was supposed to be done to that door and nothing was done properly. I will also send screen shots of the emails asking me to take this bad review off .
Dec 13, 2022Previous reviewThis is what a 600 dollar door repair gets you . He cause more damage by drilling holes into the door . Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY

my son needed service on his gate, and we needed help over the weekend. Kelvin walked me through an adjustment that allowed us to keep the gate closed and keep the house secure. this help came from him DESPITE being out of town. that means a lot for a dad who's visiting and needs to keep his kids safe. this is old school service that you don't see much anymore. for those of you that value service and commitment, this is your company.
