Q:
Can you determine if a Samsung phone has been hacked or has a virus? And if yes, can you possibly fix it?
A:
Sometimes we can sometimes we cannot it depends. As far as the device goes we can install factory firmware the hacks that are most common are those with pre-installed viruses or MDM

FRAUD ALERT: MJ Nale DBA Android Hawaii, Nale.network & PhonLab did not return a mobile phone accepted for repair or refund charges for services not provided, at an overall cost of over $1,136 for the repair charge and phone replacement. Nale reported the need to wait for an ordered part, delaying the service transaction beyond the 60-day limit to reverse the credit-card charge. The property management company for the listed address reports Nale as a tenant but not registered to conduct business from the location, and recommends customers report fraudulent business practices to law enforcement. https://www.bbb.org/us/hi/honolulu/profile/cell-phone-repair/android-hawaii-1296-1000087482

This was a very bad experience in trying to get my phone repaired. So I dropped off a mostly new (at that time) s10 galaxy (that had been stolen and subsequently recovered) to be wiped so my account wouldn't also be mixed with the thief's. And what does the owner of this business do? He actually steal my phone and sells it to someone else then tells me he's sorry but will make payments to me?!? Idk why he thinks that I won't call the police it's felony theft!

Mr. Riley your referencing a white Galaxy s10 and I remember you came to our shop one morning recently for another repair. You noticed we were working an S10 that looked like the one you said and I quote " had been stolen from you just the other day at a hotel party you had in Waikiki" my response was ' if you can sign into the Google account I will call the customer who brought this phone in, because we've heard that story before and " I was actually removing the Google lock on that device for a customer who had purchased t it outside of their work from somebody who came up to them off the street to sell it and then it was Google locked and he got burned so he brought us in the device as many people do to help them in these situations. I was suprised if you remember when you did sign into the phone so as promised II called the customer and explained to them the situation and then I asked you both to work it out on the phone. I was standing right there and according to what I overheard is that you agreed to meet that person and compensate them somehow for the money that they had spent buying your stolen phone that meeting was something you suggested to him when you were talking to him during that call. When I called that person the following day to follow up with them they told me that you never showed up and you didn't return any of their phone calls. After that phone call between you two that day. I saw you several days after that and I suggested you allow us to sell it. You agreed. This is where your version of events gets, let's say, questionable because oddly when you agreed to let us sell it you could not remember the password now when you had just signed into that phone within seconds the other day. I thought this was odd because you would think after all that everything was ok and as part of our consignment program we checked the device's IMEI number to make sure that it was not blacklisted. When the guy who brought in that phone initially to do the Google lock removal came in we did run a check online and it was not blacklisted. After your visit that day it shows it was called in Stolen, now that did not surprise me but what did was when you agreed to meet the guy who apparently bought your stolen phone and that person could have gave the police more information and then decided not to go through with the meeting and not to contact the police. At this point I should have refused service to you based on everything that happened but against my better judgement I decided to take your phone in for consignment. I placed ads as I normally do for any phone that we sell for customers but then something happened within a couple of days of your last meeting at my shop. I noticed one set of keys for our shop was missing I looked for those keys everywhere and I couldn't find them but what we did find was that 4 phones were missing and things in the shop were out of place in our work area. My immediate thought was either you or the other guy and you had came into the shop while I had stepped out during that time I heard nothing from you so I did one last thing I called you and told you that I did not have the phone but I didn't tell you what happened and that''s what really brings me to my final conclusion you didn't seem concerned at all on what happened to the phone you didn't ask questions you didn't imply anything and that is where we're at in this situation. I have been doing business in Hawaii and repairing phones for many years I've had lots of competitors and customers come and go. I did not sell yout phone, give it away, or dispose of it, I do however have enough to warrant that police investigation for which I will be reporting tomorrow accordingly. We spoke with the person who initially brought in tbe phone and I feel confident in saying he is not a suspect and even though we could build a strong case in saying you two did this together he did answer my questions and has been transparent but you are the only person who has said or suggested someone had keys to my business that and your eagerness at that time in bringing in repairs and things to light and the odd nature of timing and events leaves me no choice but to refuse repairs to you and anyone you are associated with. Yes I did offer to make a payments to you in fact I think it was at least 200$ paid up to you because minimizing any losses you have caused me thus far would be better so if you just take the keys you managed to get from my shop and turn them in by tomorrow or drop them in our 24 hour box that would be great 6g6 hibecause I have to initiate somethings with Century Center security to have you trespassed if your on property. We have changed the locks and the way we do things because of this situation, losing equipment and public trust is the issue here but we will not be threatened by you or anyone else in any capacity.

Very pleasant/painless experience. Emailed MJ with my request to have my phone unlocked. Met him in the lobby of Century Center. Confirmed what I wanted to have done, and told me I can pick up my phone anytime after hours as he would leave it with security at the front desk.
Phone works great! Very satisfied with the hassle-free experience and the price wasn't too bad either.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Duane G.HI, HI2171315Feb 13, 2018
This place is the best for your mobile phone repairs. I was told by Sprint that the phone is broken and can't be fixed. $100.00 and a week later phone is back and running. I can't say enough about this place. Super nice guy and chill. He'll get all my business. Highly recommend.

MJ runs Android Hawaii. This guy knows his stuff. He brought my phone back from the software dead. He works fast and runs the business out of his apartment.
The world of Android rooting/unlocking/S-OFF, BOOTLOADERS etc... is very complex and you can easily screw up your phone. One CORRECTLY typed in command can make your phone unusable. Yep. That's right - correctly typed in commands - still screws up phone.
That being said, MJ said if it turns on, all is not lost. Reasonable prices too. Less than some other guy on Craigslist that said he had the "lowest price".
Skip the rest and go straight to MJ if you want Android work done.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - VILLAMOR A.Kapolei, HI38243Sep 21, 2015
Android Hawaii gave me my life back!!! A couple days ago, my 1-yr old son got a hold of my phone and inadvertently activated a PIN lockscreen. Needless to say, I couldnt access any of the contents on my phone without inputting the unknown PIN that my son pressed. That's when devastation and desperation set in... because I had over 1000 precious pictures and videos of my son since birth. I went to numerous "cell phone repair" shops (who will remain unnamed) for a solution, and each one of them said the same thing... "You need to do a hard reset... all data will be lost!" I held out hope that someone could help bypass the PIN, or at least salvage the pictures. I didnt care about the texts, contacts, apps... as long as I could get back the priceless pictures. I literally could not sleep for the past 2 nights
My wife's cousin, who always looks out for the best interest of others, mentioned that he heard of Android Hawaii and told me to call MJ. I called, explained my situation, and set up an appointment for the next day. He said that he had a 75% success rate in bypassing the PIN lockscreen... I thought that figure was promising. I showed up the next day, it took him less than 30 minutes to do his thing and VOILA!! My phone was unlocked, and all the precious pictures were there, intact. He even took the time to explain in simple terms what he did, and gave me a tutorial on how to use Google Photos to backup my pictures to prevent total loss in the event that my phone got into another "situation". I was willing to drop big bucks to recover the memories connected to the pictures on my phone. But MJ charged me a reasonable price. He is honest and an all around awesome guy... he is the real deal on anything ANDROID.
