Find someplace else. And don't take Covid-19 as an excuse. I'm just guessing but imagine they save a ton of time not allowing owners inside to speak to the vet, they take payments by phone, and save money on lobby cleaning. I've been taking a total of four dogs and one cat here for the past 13 or more years. I used to think of it as my best option. But...
      1. They ran tests on my dog and found she had mouth cancer. When I asked what they could do to keep the area clean, they shaved the fur around her mouth and did a half-way job cleaning the area. They told me to find a canine oncologist. I found another vet who told me she was just "doing her job," and consulted with the oncology department at Purdue and treated her.
      2. When I made an appointment for my 4 year-old dog to have a dental and wart removal, they sent me an estimate, the max price listed around $400, but they charged $660! I've been trying to speak to someone about the extra $200 charge--three phone calls, two texts--for nearly four weeks, and have not received a call back.F

      Three trusting pups.

I was always very happy with how they treated my sweet dog. Caring and friendly staff along with reasonable prices make this place great in my book.

I have been going to Ark of the Dunes for over 4 years & have been nothing but completely happy with the doctors & staff, the treatment my dogs have received & the whole atmosphere of the clinic. I have gotten to know a lot of the staff & am always greeted with a smile, friendly chats & have never felt rushed or that my concerns were not addressed. My dogs are very well treated by the staff & I am always given options as far as their care. I am also a wildlife rehabber & the vets there have graciously agreed to sign on for my permits & help me with my wild babies. Being a former vet tech & having seen the inside of some of the worst clinics in the area, Ark of the Dunes is everything an animal clinic should be-caring, friendly, compassionate & professional.

They treat you and your pet with the upmost kindness and respect. Been to many Vet's this is the best. Most places care more about your check and not your pet. Not the case at Ark of the Dunes

I lost my dog in July and I still can't get over how I was treated by Ark of the Dunes. I've been going to this place for 9 yrs. I live a mile away and when I called to bring my dog in with an emergency I was told to take her elsewhere. I was told that they were too busy. That the vet had seen one emergency and she wasn't about to see another. Someone named Jesse told me to drive all the way to Westville or Hobart. I always thought I had a great vet with Ark of the Dunes. Shame on you.

This clinic had a dog as a patient. Dog was relinquished to rescue and I have the paperwork to prove that as I became his foster mom. I tried to get information to help with this dogs health/medical issues and the clinic would not give me any info. They said I had to get the owners to agree and contact them to let them know. Me having papers proving new ownership and they would not work with me. In 30 years of dealing with rescues and clinics never have I had one that wouldn't gladly help for the health of the dog. Glad I don't live in IN and need to actually use this clinic. I would NEVER recommend a clinic that will not work with a rescue and it's foster homes.

I boarded my cats there for a little over two weeks, during my transition to the area. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful, as they contacted my vet from where I moved from and made sure that all their shots were up-to-date. If any were needed, they were taken care of while they were there. They were also very accommodating anytime I wanted to visit my cats during my transition. I highly recommend this place to anybody who's looking to board their cats for a few days or more.

Word of caution...this is NOT an animal hospital! Out of town visiting family and my dog had an injured paw that needed attention. I explained the situation. Was told their Dr's (notice the plural) were on lunch. I said I could wait. Then was told, "we only have one on duty today". My response was, "so you can't get me in at all today?" And her response was, "no, sorry". I asked if she could recommend or knew of another place. Her response was "no". What? Really? A quick google search and there were numerous area vets. While polite and empathetic, I would trade both those qualities for intelligence and direction. If there is going to be the word "hospital" in the title, I would assume they would be just that. If you're looking for immediate care, this is NOT the place to take your beloved pet. Found a place 15 minutes away and got my dog the care he needed.

I have been coming here since 2008 with all my fur babies..they are all very compassionate and take time with you to discuss anything you are concerned with. The clinic is really clean and my guys shed immediately when they walk in the door so I am sure they are constantly cleaning after we leave..sorry about that!! I highly recommend them for any of your pet needs!

Absolutely friendly and caring staff. I've both worked for and been to clinics where they have you in and out in 15 minutes, just to get the minimal information needed and get you out the door. Dr Malorie & staff asked questions as well as listened to questions I had. They didn't rush through the wellness exam and she gave good advice for my dog's health future. The clinic is also really clean and doesn't smell like a wet dog. They gave my dog special attention and the care he needed. I really don't have any complaints.
