Lots of "-bertos" out there, but nothing really beats Armando's! I decided they deserve my 5-star rating because the food is awesome, and I shouldn't take away a star because I get frustrated trying to find parking. Although a better location might have been better, but you can't leave now. Everyone knows you guys are here! Sooooo I will continue to deal with the parking.
They no longer have indoor seating (as you can see from the picture attached) they have kept it this way since covid.
Decent prices, but they have definitely gone up in the last couple of years. They again what prices haven't gone up. Still worth it.
We have tried their carne asada burritos, carne asada chips and fries, breakfast burritos, street tacos, rolled tacos....you can't go wrong here! The only thing they don't have is my Orange Bang!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 19, 2023Previous reviewThis is our go to place for carne asada burrito! Sorry it took so long to do a review but my husband and his family have been coming here for over 20 years! Staff has changed, but the quality definitely has not. I have called in order and walked in. Prior to covid you were able to sit down inside, but sadly June of 2023 and they STILL have not brought that back. So the inside looks a little trashy as they have the tables blocked off. Maybe they should get rid of it and open up their kitchen more for bigger space behind the counter.....they can even renovate to accommodate more storage for themselves.
In any case we ordered our usual carne asada burrito, carne asada fries and 5 rolled tacos. Normally the fries is packed with meat, but this time around it wasn't and you can see more fries, but please note this wasn't the case before. There are times when it is loaded with meat to the point it is to much, so maybe different cook. The flavor was spot on. Every taco joint does it so different. Some put pico, some put sour cream, some put guac and then others who don't have that on there. So here they do not put pico de gallo on their carne asada fries (my son hates pico, so I am used to ask for NO pico). Don't forget to pick up your green or red salsa....we prefer the green over the red.
1 star really not their fault, but the damn parking sucks! Spots are reserved for 7-11, and spots reserved for other tenants. There's a donut shop, Chinese and some beauty or tattoo shop they are competing with for parking spots. This definitely not a place you come alone because there has been times I had to jump out of the car while the driver stays in the car.
They are open 24/7, so great for a mid-night snack!
Sorry...no pictures. We ate it before I realized we didn't take pictures! Promise...there WILL be a next tiime. - Cai P.San Diego, CA26529Apr 16, 2024

Finally Armando's taco shop is letting costumers eat at the shop . We weren't unable to eat at the shop for almost 2-3 yrs or so maybe more ever since the corona virus. Well now you are allowed to sit down and eat your food comfortably not only that food is delicious and I always ask for my fries to be crispier on the outside and tender in the inside and they do just that . Love yum carne asada fries the bomb

Things have been different since Juan's work doesn't work there at night. This is a picture of a burnt burrito that I would've never ordered.

One of the good ones left standing. Roberto's keep letting me down but this spot has been consistent. Armando's is open 24 hours and the portion sizes are bigger than anywhere else. Service is not very good sometimes but their food makes up for it.

I go ahead and place an order on the phone, the guy on the phone was rude and had no manners. I get there with my lady, the guy tells me the amount so I pull out some cash and hand it to him. However, there was a $10 bill that I had on the counter, this guy goes ahead and grabs it. I didn't see it but my lady did, she said it was $24 not $34 then he hands me the $10 back. Also found egg shells in my machaca burrito. Never coming back again not even the homeless want to go there. Unfortunately I have to give a star rating I wouldn't even give 0 stars.
