I went here today for a gift for an old friend that I will get to see in a few days. I was greeted right away when I walked in. The lady behind the counter was very helpful in helping me find just the right thing - she listened to what I was looking for and came up with several ideas, not pushing pricey items. Then she had my purchase wrapped up in pink - my friend's favorite color. This along with enjoying browsing their great selection of items was such a nice experience! I will return with friends.

Three stars for their store products, zero for their customer service. I've never been in the store (and I, unfortunately, stop by at least once a month to check out their inventory for gifts) where someone has acknowledged you or welcomes you AT ALL (unless you are one of their "regulars." However, they do enjoy acknowledging each other by gossiping and exchanging beef stew recipes.

I wouldn't care to write a review about this location but happened to go by the store today with my husband together for the first time. Again, no welcome, no acknowledgement, and probably a few other people in the store. We spent 20 minutes in the store, didn't purchase anything and as we were walking out I mentioned to him that the customer service was horrible and that I couldn't comfortably shop since the person scoping us out (shout out to the older lady with short gray hair) was following us around pretending to "tidy" up any shelf within 5 feet of us everywhere we went. I was watching her, as much as she was "watching" me, and there wasn't anyone else she was following. He also mentioned that although he doesn't come there often except to pick up a gift (usually for me) there's usually the same person following him around (and believe me, he's usually clueless about his surroundings), which prompted me to write the review. I was merely going to write about their lack of customer service - it's almost as if they know they have cute stuff and there's no need to interact or acknowledge anyone that comes through their doors.

But after reading another reviewer's experience about stereotyping...I have to almost agree. I've felt this every single time I've shopped with them but thought it was all in my head until my husband mentioned the same thing. Am I going to shop there still? Likely....but not as often....and only as a last resort.

I am so angry right now I could spit. I have been a loyal customer with Artisans for years buying many things from them. However, when I tried to return some Christmas gifts there today (and it's still December btw) because they were christmas themed (coasters and scented mat with snowman) I could no longer return them. Their policy is no holiday returns after December 21st! That''s not even Christmas! WTH!! That makes no sense to have such a strict return policy for one part of the year! It's suffocating. You can't buy anything holiday themed then to give for Christmas because it has to be returned by December 21st! It doesn't match their other return policy of 30 days-conflicting policies! Stupid! Oh well, I may be back, but I can definitely say it won't be as often! To lose a loyal customer...shaking my head.

Such a wonderful gift shop.... loaded with such a variety of treasures!!....helpful & friendly staff.... plus they gift wrap!!.... I contributed to a raffle/fund-raiser and ended up winning a fabulous gift tote loaded with goodies!!! Yet another reason to love & support this store‼

Their selection is great and pricing is appropriate. They even have a lot of local artisans features as well. But what really sets them apart is their topnotch customer service! I was here twice in one week for gifts for clients and I received the best service i have ever received in any establishment. They have gone above and beyond for me without seeming inconvenienced. Please try them for gifts before going online or to a major retailer. These are the exact kinds of stores that we need to locally patronize.

This was a really nice place, kind of out of the way for me, but I really needed my Thymes Lavender soap! So, I traveled to Darnestown and had a lot of fun perusing all the kitschy merch in the store.

Not only did they have my addiction in stock (The Thymes Lavender Soap) but many other little things that I was able to pick up for as Christmas presents and stocking stuffers.

This is definitely one of those stores where you go when you have no idea what you want to get, but walk out the door with something great in your bag.

Things are a little bit on the pricey side though-- I have seen some of the merch elsewhere for less, but still it has more to offer than most "gift" stores I have seen.

Go!! And just have fun window shopping if you don't buy anything :0)

My favorite gift store! I find reasons year-round to shop here. It's the perfect place to get a gift for a housewarming, birthday, baby shower, wedding, holiday or just for fun!

This is a gift store that is not only fun to look at but is also affordable to buy from. The friendly atmosphere is a huge plus too. I'm warmly greeted each time when I walk in the door and there is someone always around to grab when you need help.

Oh, how can I forget the best part? They beautifully and quickly wrap everything for free!

Great selection, top notch "stereotyping" staff. Daughter selected a Vera Bradley bag that was strapped to my arm while we continued to shop. We were in the back of the store looking at ceramic owls (my absolute favorite), when a woman ordered us to give the Vera Bradley bag to her to hold up front. My daughter and my jaws dropped in shock as we were singled out and no one else was ordered to hold their merchandise at the front register while they shopped. Plenty of shoppers perusing items and carrying lots of merchandise in their hands. I was SO EMBARRASSED!!!! We immediately felt stereotyped by this request. We won't be returning ever.

Anytime I need to get a special present or an adorable hostess gift, I come here. They have such a wide selection of items, I never walk out empty handed.

They can wrap your presents for you which is an added bonus. They definitely go the extra mile for their customers.

This is the best gift store in Montgomery County! They have everything you need and gift wrap for free! Perfect place to go when you are on your way to an event. The staff is very helpful!
