Bab Café - Reno

Bab Cafe is stellar. They offer premium food at a reasonable cost. Korean food is somewhat new to the Reno/Sparks area, and this place does it well.

Here, you get tasty ingredients, exceptional service, and a casual ambiance without breaking your budget.

I've brought a few friends here. It's close to Shim's, and is a perfect alternative to Kwok's Bistro if you're turned down for service there, as this place doesn't require a reservation!

Went in on a Sunday, the service was great, and the food was good.
Nice to have a place that I can get a bowl full of veggies with some tofu.
The veggies on my mates rice bowl looked like Costco pre-package, you can tell from the perfect little rounded carrots.

A hidden gem in Reno for sure. A build your bowl kinda spot. I ordered their kimchi fried rice with Bulgogi beef and it was fire. The flavors and spice were on point, not too spicy. The meat was tender and very flavorful, the kimchi fried rice was perfectly cooked. Be sure to ask for extra sauce for the Bulgogi beef, it's that good. I often crave this bowl because it's so tasty. I ordered the large size and it was big enough for two full meals. The servings are big and worth the cost.

The staff were friendly and offered suggestions for your cravings. I love that they cater to gluten free and vegetarian options. The ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. If you're in downtown Reno, don't sleep on this place.

I would recommend this cute little spot if you're looking for tasty authentic Korean food. They're fast and healthy. This place hits the spot every time!

Great Kim chi fried rice - best in the area - hands down. fast service, friendly and always delicious - the beef not always fresh - I wish they had chicken breast as an option. Dolsot bi bimbap would be an amazing addiction. Ambiance is not the best but for a hole in the wall it's clean and serviceable .

Thank you Yelp for helping me find this place, it is located near downtown and has vegetarian , vegan and gluten free food options. The service is walk up but they are very helpful and quick with the food, the ambiance is that of a modern cafe with stool and table seating. I ordered the tofu classic bab and it was amazing! They have different sauces and just be warmed they have a DANGER sauce and it should be named DEATH sauce it is THAT spicy so don't fool with it. My friend got the Korean spicy wings and loved it also

I love this kind of place. You walk up to the counter and build your dish--do you want rice, noodles, or greens as your base? Steamed veggies or a combo of banchan type crisp veggies? What kind of protein? What size?
Then you can help yourself to a variety of sauces to customize your dishes.
We had two medium bowls with different items and they were tasty and filling and didn't break the bank. We spent about $26. Oh, and it comes with free miso soup!

This place is so cute and the staff was friendly, however, the food tastes quite bland.

Bap is located in downtown Reno and have a generous amount of parking when I went, however, there may be issues if there are events downtown. I don't see it being a big issue though.

The food is clean, light, and easy to eat on the go. I enjoy the complimentary miso soup. The prices are fair, but maybe a bit more than I would expect. Generally, the food is bland, especially the bulgogi. The meat is not flavorful compared to the usual Korean BBQ. Also, the spicy pork isn't that spicy to be honest, but has more flavor than the other.

I don't think I would come again, but it was good to try!

After traveling all day, the last thing I wanted to do was leave my hotel to go somewhere to eat. I pulled up my Uber Eats app and Bab Café spoke to me. I ordered a Japchae top bab for my son and a Classic style with tofu for myself. Both came with a side of miso soup.

The food arrived fairly quickly and was packed well. The miso soups were placed in (coffee) cups with lids, which was convenient. I was pleasantly surprised by the portions. Both bowls came with a generous amount of protein, veggies, and rice/noodles. The japchae top bab is a Top-Bab style rice bowl topped with mostly japchae noodles and bulgogi beef. My son devoured the entire bowl. I tried the japchae and it was so good. I wished I had gotten a side order for myself. My classic bowl came with cucumber, cooked carrots, zucchini, spinach, radish, and bean sprouts. Every bite was delicious. We were both full and very satisfied!

Love the build your own style bibimbap concept! Walked in to a very clean, spacious and modern setting. Extremely friendly staff and quick service. I ordered the classic bab with tofu and it comes with miso soup on the side. The water and sauce bar is self-service. There are a variety of sauces ranging in different spice level. My favorite is the traditional Korean gochujang. Fresh ingredients and large portions! Everything was delicious! Would visit again when I am in the area next time!
