About the Business
Bark & Meow is a pet boutique that provides "Precious Pet Products and Quality Chow"... As a trained Architect and Interior Designer, Laura founded the store in March 2007 with her Shiba Inu Sachi. Spending 16 years in high-end residential construction, Laura decided to live the suburban life supplying pet-lovers and their pets with natural / organic pet food and treats as well as fun and well designed pet products. Laura's inspiration for the store is her love for animals and the idea that pet products can be just as healthy, fashionable, and functional as items for their owners. Products In our store, we offer a wide variety of products geared to dogs, cats, and their human companions. With our hands-on approach to service, we will assist you in choosing appropriate products and solutions for your pet. We offer a large selection of pet food, toys, and accessories, but don't take our word for it - have a look below at some of the many products we have to offer. If you don't see your brand, we most likely can special order it for you... just ask!

They were very responsive. My pups needed a nail trim and they got him right in, were friendly, efficient and super quick.

This is my all time favorite pet store!. Laura the owner has curated the healthiest foods and treats for dogs. It is a fun shop to enter, so many wonderful toys and accessories! I always find beautiful collars for my dog. My go to place for pet gifts, they wrap them up so nicely.

Laura was extremely friendly as well as knowledgeable about the products and brands she carries. Bark & Meow is a treasure to find nestled in our new hometown and they carry foods, treats, and products that you can be proud to give to your furry friend.
Laura not only offered great holistic advice to help my dog with his chronic skin condition but also chatted about the lines of food that she chooses to carry and various diets that may benefit his chronic joint and shin issues.
Pricing is very similar to what you would find at the big box stores, but she does stock more environmentally conscious and non commercial brands that you can feel good about buying.
The store is a little tight so I don't know if I would recommend bringing your big boys & girls with you but Benny (55#) was right at home while Laura and I were talking shop. If you're a local pet owner you've gotta check Bark n' Meow out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Diane P.White Plains, NY981Apr 24, 2009First to Review
Manhattan-style class with Westchester friendliness. Laura (the owner) knows her organic pet foods and is always ready to research special needs whether it is just the right harness or the perfect food based on your vet's recommendations. If your dog trainer suggested xyz toy, she will get it for you if it isn't already amongst her beautifully displayed stock.

If you're looking for a pet store that not only offers great products but wonderful staff, you've found the right place. Laura and all her helpers are patient and know the products inside and out. The store is clean and well organized. I never felt like I could ask questions and get whole hearted advice back in one of the more commercialized pet store chains. I like a smaller business that has people like Laura who study their industry. My dogs are like children to me and I want to know what's in the products and I want to be able to ask for the opinion of someone in the field. Bark and Meow is hands down my favorite pet store to get all my pets needs.

Really love this store and have for years. I live locally and have been going here since Laura (the sweetest woman in the world) opened the store a few years ago. I have a little Corgi named Redford who also loves to come in and pick a toy off the rack for himself. She does have two other dogs in there who I have never had a problem with, and niether has Redford.
The store carries a lot of high end dog food with is nice because the brands can be hard to find and are really good for your pet. My sister comes here for Orijen's (brand of dog food).
The other cool thing is the other really nice merchandise she carries. I got an awesome life vest for my dog here (he is not a very good swimmer with his tiny legs) and he and I love this life vest. Very high quality and holds up now 2 summers and going strong!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeremy Z.Tarrytown, NY05Jul 17, 2014
Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow is appealing to so many because it has a small town feel and yet is so close to NYC. Laura, at Bark and Meow exemplifies this appeal by treating each of her customers as if they were old friends. She is a true service professional who listens to her customers wants and needs and addresses them, often going out of her way to provide exemplary service.
Once I went in to get food for our two Golden Retrievers. We had asked that she stock a special brand and she went to several different suppliers to find it. Well, she kept it in stock just for us but a customer came in one day who bought the bag. Of course she ordered a replacement to be delivered the next day but as luck would have it, we were out and I stopped by that same day. She apologized and explained that the food would be in the next day... Then she surprised me by suggesting that she would drop it off at my house once it came in so I wouldn't have to make a second trip!
I was amazed and impressed at her dedication to treating her customers right!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rachel H.Huntington Township, PA13430Oct 16, 2016

My dog was also attacked and bit by the store dog on the sidewalk-- we hadn't even entered the store yet. It was a very upsetting experience. The store itself has a nice selection of food and treats, but that's too bad to hear from other reviewers that an aggressive dog is on site. A warning or sign would be appreciated.

I had the pleasure of entering this cute little store Bark and Meow and meeting Laura (owner). She was one of the most helpful and kind people I have gotten the pleasure to know. She immediately greeted us and talked to us about puppy health and nutrition and recommended an organic brand. This was great considering my bf and I live an organic lifestyle and want that for our puppy too.
She was informative and I never felt pressured towards any merchandise. She also gave us sample treats and dog food.
The store has pretty much anything you could want. There is an assortment of treats, food, toys, clothes and random doggy/cat nick nacks. If you are coming here expecting to find processed big brand dog food, then you probably won't find it. But there is no short supply of toys so this store is for just about anyone.
I brought in my puppy of 3 months, no bigger than a foot long, and she felt right at home. Laura and her employee greeted her with much enthusiasm. Her dogs were friendly as well. Neither of them tried to attack my tiny puppy as previously stated. I would feel fully comfortable bringing my puppy in.
Once I am in need of any dog items I am sure to come back and be a frequent customer. Going into her store was such a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
