Q:
Is there a kids menu?
A:
I'm certain Becco would accommodate a child. The day we were there, a family was celebrating a child's birthday
Elizabeth K.Â5 months agoQ:
Are there seats for walk ins for a party of 2? Even bar seating?
A:
I'm not sure that they always have walk-in tables, but there's definitely a bar, that accepts walk ins and serves the full menu.

Choose to dine here per reviews.. Decided on the pasta trio, was not very impressed. I was looking for homemade pasta, two of the three types were not homemade. The atmosphere was nice , I like the team approach to service.
Not sure if I would return when visiting NYCHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John E.Manhattan, NY01Mar 17, 2024
Service was amazing, food was phenomenal, and the ambiance was perfect. We had a great dinner and left stuffed. Will dine here again!

The restaurant felt a lot larger on the inside than it looked on the outside, and it wasn't too busy after 1 PM on a Saturday. I'd suggest a making a reservation in advance for eating at peak hours, since the tables around ours were all finishing up as we were seated. The restaurant felt homey and warm with the decor.
The complimentary sliced bread sadly wasn't warm when they brought it out, but the thin, crunchy breadsticks with seasoning were addictive. The Insalata Cesare, the caesar salad, was solid, and they brought it out maybe 5 minutes after we placed our orders. The service here was quick, and we even got the pastas right after we finished our appetizers.
The unlimited pasta serves their rotating three pastas, and the selection and variety were surprisingly good. The pasta was perfectly al dente; I've never had such al dente pasta before at a restaurant. I only tried two of the three pastas, since the third was a mushroom ravioli and I'm not a fan of mushroom. (My friend told me it was really good and that I had to try it.)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 28, 2024
The restaurant is busy so make sure you make reservations. It's located in restaurant row and it's a bustling area of restaurants. The tables are spaced close together so we prepared to get bumped by someone while you're seated.
I ordered the SINFONIA DI PASTE, Saturday for
$34.95 which is the chef's selection of three unlimited pastas and you also get an appetizer of Caesar salad or antipasto. For the table, they bring you olives, bread and breadsticks. The three pastas that night were fettuccine with pesto and asparagus, penne a la vodka with shrimp and spinach ravioli. Out of the 3, I liked the penne a la vodka with shrimp the best. They were ok but nothing spectacular.
For dessert, we ordered the dessert for two but it was kinda skimpy. I was expecting a bit more for the price. Could've just skipped dessert.
The service was a bit slow in the beginning and I felt that it could have been better. Wish I could but not sure if I would recommend to family and friends.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 24, 2024
Very touristy, popular pre-theater Italian spot. Food is ok - we both opted for the 3 pasta sampler that comes with a Caesar salad. The pastas were mass produced and distributed to each table straight out of large pans. Very sloppy spooning - I had to cover myself with my napkin to avoid getting splashed with sauce.
It was fine. They got us in and out quickly and the food was fine, but don't expect a fine dining experience with amazing food, because that's not what you'll be getting.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rebecca M.New York, NY221102Apr 25, 2024
We hadn't been to Becca's in quite some time, and the food was average. The ambiance and staff were very attentive and friendly, however the food was just mediocre. We ordered the chef's special plate with three pastas (Beet ravioli, spaghetti with tomato and basil, and orecchiette with bacon) and the shrimp, scallop, and fish dish over polenta. They were descent but just okay. The beet ravioli was a let down and the desert selection was lacking.

We visited during last week of December 2023, made reservations on Yelp, and got seated as soon as we arrived. Hostess was friendly, atmosphere was festive.
Their pasta trio special was popular, and we were tempted but ended up not going that route. Complimentary bread was brought out promptly while we waited for our food. The caesar salad was great, and the rest of our food was tasty.
The only complaint is we were seated at a tiny table for two, and basically elbow to elbow with the strangers sitting next to us. Otherwise, it was a nice dining experience with delicious food. Would recommend!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Nov 15, 2023
My wife & I had such a great experience at Becco last night!
We signed up for a special dinner hosted by Lidia & Joe Bastianich. The menu was created by Lidia and Bastianich Wines were served from their family vineyard. All food was served family style which was great because if you wanted more, the wait staff came over and gave you another portion.
Lidia wrote a new cookbook and had a special table signing. A few years ago I read Joe's book Restaurant Man and I am excited to meet both of them in person.
Walking to the hostess stand, the restaurant on a Tuesday night was packed! There was even a little 4 top table in the foyer! I think the event pushed everyone into the main dining room, it was great to see everyone just enjoying New York City.
Now I've been on cruises, when you're seated at a communal table, some couples might be shy. I know how to get everyone talking! Table 8, we honestly had the best table. Everyone shared about themselves while we feasted on fried calamari rings.
The first course was a ceasar salad, Eggplant Rollatini, roasted cauliflower bites and the outrageous Calamari Fritti. The calamari was cooked perfectly and I loved the side sauce.
Next the pasta dishes, Potato Gnocchi with tomato, burrata and fresh basil as well as Casarecce with shrimp & broccoli. The Gnocchi was so pillowly light, they melted in your mouth. Perfecto!
Now there are family style servings coming out, pan fried Monkfish, sauteed chicken breast and fall of the bone pork shoulder. You want more? The wait staff was happy to oblige and serve you more food and wine.
What I didn't expect to see was the love people have for Lidia. One of the guests at our table had past cook books Lidia signed as well as a children's book. (Joe isn't signing my iPad) Joe also spoke about how the Becco is near and dear to him, he opened the restaurant in his 20s and there are people working now that have been there for decades.
At the end of the night I snapped a picture of my wife with Lidia, signing her book. I told her the branzino at Lupo is still the best I ever had.
Starting from a restaurant in Queens to multiple restaurants, "Eataly" (We've also been to the Boston location) a Michelin Star restaurant for Del Posto, Lidia & Joe Bastianich built a beautiful family business for all of us to enjoy.Helpful 8Thanks 4Love this 7Oh no 1 - Nov 1, 2023Updated review
We had not intended to dine here but after a poor happy hour experience at a nearby restaurant we dashed in before a play. It was a Friday night and it was packed. Somehow they got us 2 seats at the bar and we had amazing food again!
We actually ordered the same seafood dish we had in 2018. It was just as good as I remembered. I believe it is the zuppa di pesce Misto. We also had a great caesar salad. The bartender was fabulous and even though we had to rush to get to the play we had a fantastic expience at Becco. Highly recommend.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Sep 23, 2018Previous reviewWow, this was a solid 4 star dining experience. If I lived nearby I would be dining regularly as the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. We tried the Zuppa di Pesce Misto which is described as a sautéed day-boat seafood in "lobster brodo" served on a bed of soft, white polenta. This dish was only $26 and delectable.
My husband ordered the unlimited pasta dishes and I tried a few bites of each of those as well. All three were delicious, and by no means "olive garden pastas" as another reviewer wrote. Our server was curious when we finished which dish we preferred and neither the seafood nor the pastas fell short. We loved all the food. The wines from their $31 list are exceptional and our waiter knew exactly what we should order based on the style of white we were looking for. Service is above and beyond.
Only reason they don't get a 5th star is due to the close proximity of the tables. Now I knew this having read reviews ahead of time, so was not surprised and by the end of the evening we felt like we were best friends with the couples on either side of us. By the way, they were locals so that shows you it's not just tourists visiting Becco.
It's a lively festive restaurant serving outstanding food at great prices and next time I'm in NYC I won't hesitate to return. - 35441889Jan 26, 2024
It's probably been a DECADE since I was last here and I wanted to go back to try their daily pasta offering ($34.95). I based my visit solely on what they were offering which was ravioli with eggplant, penne with beef and onions, and tagliolini with pesto and asparagus. I couldn't tell you anything else about the menu; I never opened it.
I started with the antipasto instead of the Caesar Salad. It was a mix of vegetables and salmon and octopus. The salmon was oddly prepared; it seemed to have a breading on it. Then came the unlimited pasta! Our favorite was the penne. The ravioli was good; it really didn't have any eggplant with it. I barely finished the first serving of the pesto and opted for a bit more of the penne. Definitely come with an appetite if you really want to take advantage of an unlimited amount.
The staff did check on us throughout the meal to see if we wanted more of anything. They didn't immediately come back but that's because the pasta was likely being made! We noticed that the table next of us was served tagliatelle with the pesto instead of the tagliolini.
It's a fairly large restaurant - two sides, two floors. We sat upstairs. Only issue was that it would get really hot then cold.
Hopefully it won't take me a decade to return again!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0
