Beleza Medspa

I wish zero star was an option. I would not and I can not recommend Beleza Medspa for any procedures done by Dr. Lawrence Broder. The procedure (BBL) done by Dr. Broder was not only the most traumatizing experience of my life thus far, but most deceitful. There's a lot, but I'll keep it brief. Yes, this is brief.

My original encounter with Beleza was a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Once I called back to follow-up on that consultation, I was advised that the Dr. was no longer with Beleza, BUT, I could meet with Dr. Broder. At no point did anyone mention Dr. Broder was not a board certified plastic surgeon like the first doctor I met with. I believe that's an important detail the consumer should be told, verbally, not in the fine print.

Dr. Broder is a family doctor who now practices plastic surgery.

According to Dr. Broder, I had the ideal body type for a specific procedure. I showed him my wish pictures and he assured me my results were realistic and definitely obtainable. A touch-up was always an option as well, per Dr. Broder and the nurse at the time. That was until the procedure was over, naturally. From his mouth, "I'm only human" was one of the responses to my results. He also made it a point to tell me I'm not a woman of color as another excuse (I can pass a lie detector test on all of this). He then changed his mind (lied), saying my body frame is to blame for the results.So, which is it? Shouldn't I have known that before he took my money? Yes. He either lied from the beginning or lied afterward.

The procedure itself was a complete nightmare. It felt worse than both of my experiences with childbirth. Following my procedure, I made it a point to have my mom keep an eye on my in case I went into shock from the procedure. I was that traumatized.

You see, Dr. Broder made me feel like my procedure could be done under local anesthesia. It was the new common method to my understanding. I may even nap through the procedure I was told. I have since learned that his method is not common practice. Not only is it more dangerous, but I would never obtain the results he promised under his method - local anesthesia. Furthermore, he didn't numb some areas at all. I was warned of this DURING the procedure, before it was about to happen.

Yet, his prices are close to, if not the same, as those who follow proper procedure with general anesthesia. His method also made it impossible to hide the scars that he promised would fade, but haven't. The procedure under GA allows doctors to insert cannulas in hidden areas to hide the scars - another post learn.

Following the procedure I had two infections in my butt cheeks, pain from my leg to my feet [still until this very day], lower back pain and more.

He prescribed antibiotics to me prior to the procedure, which I declined due to my antibiotic reactions. I learned that's not common either. That fact that I did end up having infections concerns me. I wonder if he does something out of nature that requires the antibiotics before hand? I actually, I believe I may have learned the answer to that question first hand.

I documented my experience on realself and Dr. Broder wrote me a private message and email stating my honest review could hurt his business. That was beyond unprofessional.

Everything from the procedure, the results, customer care and beyond are not what I would expect of any operating business. They'll give you as many ativans as possible in hopes that you won't remember the trauma. I remember him becoming agitated that I was "still with it". He'd then instruct the nurse to give me another ativan. The procedure was delayed hours repeating this "feed her more ativan" cycle.

I'm more unhappy with my body than I was before. He left lumps all over my stomach, he literally forgot to work on areas I paid for, he only performed lipo on one side of my back (he forgot the other side) and more. His nurse agreed with all of this and assured me he would fix it.

My legitimate concerns had solutions without me reliving the most traumatic experience, ever. He chose to bail. I reached out to his office on numerous occasions at the time. He never got back to me, but oddly enough shows "concern" as responses to my reviews. He has my number. He never called it. It's all for show.

His office has literature requesting Yelp reviews the moment you check-in and even his employees let you know their employment status in part depends on reviews. I tried tipping an employee and I was advised that she couldn't accept it, but asked that I please leave her a review because that's what secures her job.

It made sense when I could hear the girls gossiping outside my room door one day about Dr. Broder. Everything came together.

Horrible, HORRIBLE experience. I would not recommend it.
