Best Buns Bakery & Burgers

We've been meaning to try out the burgers from here since we love the burger from Mike's (and the other GARs).

They offer regular and little versions of a hamburger, cheeseburger, and bacon cheeseburger with loads of toppings. We got a cheeseburger, a little cheeseburger, and two orders of fries. Food only took about 5-6 minutes to get.

Place was pretty busy for 330 PM on a Saturday but we luckily found seats near the window. I immediately notice the burger is nothing like the restaurant burger. The patties were nicely smashed with crispy edges. Cheese was perfectly melted too. It was juicy and pretty flavorful. The fries were shoestring, crispy and hot just how I like it.

Great for a quick ideal fast food burger!

I frequent the Great American restaurants, so I had high hopes for this location. I went in knowing it's more of a quick bite/grab and go type place. In that sense, it's a great place to grab a quick and easy bite for lunch. The lady who was taking orders at the register was a delight (5 stars). But this location is more like a cousin to the Great American Restaurants, not a sister. Everything was served fresh and clean, but it's with the flavor of the content that fell short for me.
- The hot honey chicken sandwich (that I requested subbed on a biscuit) was not "hot" at all. It was a regular chicken biscuit. There was also way too much biscuit compared to the small pieces of chicken. I ended up taking off half the biscuit.
- The chicken salad sandwich was fresh, but the flavor was very egg-y and a little too savory for a chicken salad. The bread was great and there was plenty of greens, so balance was great, but wasn't too much a fan of the notes in the actual chicken salad.
- The penne pasta in the grab and go was decent.
- I was really looking forward to the lemon cupcake, but ended up preferring the vanilla cupcake with some of the lemon cupcake frosting added on top. The lemon cupcake by weight was much heavier than the vanilla cupcake, so initially I thought it was filled. The lemon cupcake was a bit too forward with the lemon as if it was soaked in lemon syrup. Overall would come back for the cupcakes when the craving hits.

I'll have to try other dishes in the future to see if maybe other dishes are their specialties. Their salads did seem very hearty and filling.

The biscuit....man.....their biscuits are so good! I could have just eaten a plain biscuit. Buuuuttt their fried chicken biscuit...nothing dry about it. I went for savory versus sweet for this breakfast.

They do have plenty of yummy desserts from hot cross buns, chocolate croissants and danishes....there's more but listing them all would just make me even hungrier.

They have Starbucks coffee as well as juices, teas or sodas. Plenty of parking as well. No reservation required...and plenty of sitting area as well.

This is what you get when you mix a bakery with a cafe. This spot is located in a small strip mall so there is tons are parking available. The offer call in and online orders for those wanting to save some time.

They have a a decent sized dining area with tables/chairs and bar seating along the window, facing the parking lot. You will also find some seating outdoors, on the side of the place as well. The restaurant has a self service water station and is very clean and tidy.

The staff there is very friendly and helpful. They are all dress in white chef attire. They serve salads, build your own burgers, sandwiches, cookies, biscuits, cupcakes, sticky buns, beer, wine Starbucks coffee and soft drinks. I came in the early evening and the selection of baked goods was lacking.

I got a bacon cheese burger and a chocolate chip cookie with nuts. It took them about 10 minutes to prepare my burger. The cookie was average. They were nothing special I recommend skipping them and trying another baked good. They are kind of small and I have made better myself. The burger was delicious. Very flavorful. I should have got the double patty because the single patty was kind of small and nowhere near filled me up.

This is a very good place to eat, but I would keep two things in mind. Get there early in the day if you want baked good. I was wanting a sticky bun, but they were out. Also, the burgers are kind of small, so don't be scared to go big if you get one.

Best Buns would have their pastry case fully stocked on an afternoon I decided to stop in.

Their fresh brewed coffee is so good! And today it went well with the Cinnamon Raisin Danish. Soft, flaky and not too sweet. Was just what I needed to give me boost!

I also opted for a fruit danish as well as a cheese danish for later hahaaaa!!!

I didn't get a CINNAMON ROLL and boy was that hard to fight that urge. lol

Clean restaurant and as always served with a smile.

I'm going to have to stop by for lunch one of these afternoons and try a salad or a burger...everything looks so delicious!

This may very well be my new happy place! lol

So glad best buns has landed in Springfield. Now we have a go to place for breakfast sandwich!

Price is very reasonable- breakfast sandwich between $6-10. You can order any sandwich on either their bagels, croissants or muffins. I definitely love their flaky and buttery crossiant for the breakfast sandwich, The egg and meat are cooked so perfectly. I have been here for few times since they opened.

Best Buns Bakery is solid, has to be the best bakery in Springfield, no longer have to drive 30 minutes to get to a good bakery.

The pastries are delicious, definitely recommend coming here. You can see and taste the flakeyness. Definitely recommend the morning bun.

The burgers are solid as well, smash burger style. You can build the burger how you want it. The buns are not really my style, but the buns aren't terrible either.

For everybody that has a fury child, they have fresh baked dog bones as well!

They also serve Starbucks for all you Starbucks lovers.

This new location is across from Mike's. You can order ahead and there are to go spots. It was busy when we came during lunch and we had to wait to grab a table. There are only about 7 tables with 4 chairs each. You order and then grab a seat and they will call your name when your order is ready. All the food is packed to go. The workers were all nice.

We got 3 cupcakes, a brookie, a burger, fries, and a hot chicken sandwich. The cupcakes I would skip. Brookie was ok. I enjoyed my chicken sandwich a lot and would order it next time I am here. It was crispy, not too spicy and was the perfect amount of sweet. Their burger was the same as any GAR restaurant and was okay.

I'd recommend their wicked sauce. I would come back again.

Been here a few times and was hoping it would get better. One time I came with friends. They got their food, and I waited for mine. Fifteen minutes passed and they said I should check. They were busy, so i waited a bit longer. I finally went up and the employee said mine was coming up, even though she did not check any orders. I waited another ten minutes before going up again, my friends and their kids were about done their food. The worker realized my order still hadn't come, so she told someone else and they put in my order. Waited at least a half hour for a chicken sandwich.

Another time, I ordered curbside. After I notified them I was there in the app, I waited 15 minutes. Parking was pretty empty and saw one employee bring a bag out to the outdoor tables. I ended up going inside, and no one was in line and workers were at the registers. I stated I had curbside order and they pointed me towards the pickup counter. As I went to get my items, they apologized half heartedly and offered me a bag since it wasn't bagged yet. Okay food and pastries. Their breads are a bit on the harder/tougher side, and some of the pastries are a miss.

Cheese danish: no skimping on the cream cheese filling here, mmmmm. So good. I nabbed the last one.
