glad to find this place open til 10 on a weekday. if you like chunky gyros with lots of feta this is the gyro spot for you. It's not the shaved from the slow turning spit kind, but the chunks cut from a slab and i guess grilled or pan seared kind, but pretty delicious. I love lots of feta, onions, and tomatoes on my gyros. Would have loved to see some cucumbers though ;) .. maybe next time. The flat bread for the gyro was great, soft and perfect for holding.
..unfortunately, my guest i was with, was not feeling the kabob, or the homemade bread. it seemed like it didn't rise enough before baking. It was dense and heavy. The kabob meat may not have been marinated enough before grilling. It was red.. but lacked that marinated flavor. the Spinach tasted like it was out of a can of sabzi from the spice market and not fresh. its not a BAD THING, as those can hit the spot and come thru in a clutch... but fresh is always better..
oh well. at least the gyro was great !!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 22, 2024
I placed order from this restaurant via ubereats. Since it's Ramadan and I was looking forward to try some Pakistani food in iftaari. I ordered biryani, nihari haleem and lassi. I'm utterly disappointed to taste lassi and it was sour and foamy means it was old and stale, it went down to drain. I then tasted Nihari Haleem, there wasn't any nihari or haleem flavor in it but a mixture of broken chicken pieces with naked bones and taste more like daal gosht, absolutely no flavor in it. Biryani also was stale and chicken pieces look old and dark on the outside. Side raita (yogurt) was also foamy and stale.
I'm very disappointed because I was very excited to learned we have Pakistani restaurant in Stafford but I guess I'll have to travel up north to satisfy my cravings for desi food.
I'm sorry but I don't recommend this restaurant because of this experience of my mine.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J E.Stafford, VA9225049483Sep 17, 2023Updated review
o, I tried this joint a few years ago, after they opened and it wasn't good at all... It's still around and since I was craving some good Middle Eastern eats, I stopped in recently on a weekday and the first sign I should have left was that no one else was there. The second sign - it smelled nothing at all like a place that makes anything with curry, it smelled like cleaner. The fixtures, décor, and leftover (from the gas station that it used to be) slurpee and other machines all tell me the folks who own this place put nothing at all into it... So, one would hope they put their love into the food....
I tried their beef seekh kabob with a side of chick peas... The flavors and style is more Persian, maybe Afghan, but definitely NOT anything with flavor! Those are bland and basic in preparation, style, and flavor... Indian and Pakistani foods have sooo much more depth of flavor which comes from better preparation and use of spices.
The kabob was as flavorful as regular 80/20 ground beef wrapped around a spit... I hardly tasted any spice to it. The chickpeas weren't flavorful at all. The rice (even though it looked like it might be good) was the blandest thing I had, so I hardly ate any.
Overall, I tried this place a few years apart and nothing has changed... I have no idea how they stay in business, but I do hope they are successful... They just don't serve the flavors I seek.Helpful 5Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 1Feb 3, 2020Previous reviewWhile out running errands on a weekday I stopped in here for lunch, right around 12:30PM... At the time I came in, there was one other customer waiting for her chicken kabob, but there were no other customers; in fact, no one else even came in to shop in the convenience store section of this place during my entire stay.
This location used to be a Fastmart gas station and convenience store. The gas pumps are gone, but the convenience store area is still there and they now also serve kabobs and very basic curry-style sides.
The guy who made my food was as friendly as would be expected. The place looked somewhat clean behind the counter, but the store and cashier areas were disheveled and poorly kept up.
Prices are OK. Food flavor was just "OK" too, lacking spice in the spinach and definitely in the kabob. Chutney was boring. Food seemed fresh. Their bread (some form of naan, looked like it was oven-baked, like pizza dough and was loaded with lots of extra flour on top. It tasted decent, but was lacking the tasty char you get when preparing it in a Tandoor. I saw what the channa and the potato sides looked like and they looked very boring, definitely appearing to lack the basic curry spices that would give them great flavor.
Overall, I went, but doubt I'd go back. - Krystal C.Fredericksburg, VA37711Mar 14, 2023
I stopped in on a whim and got a lamb kabob wrap to go, and it was very tasty. I was worried because I didn't see anyone else there. The lamb was very flavorful and the naan was nice and soft too. I was told next week they will be adding butter chicken with naan to the menu. I will definitely be back.

The service was slow and the food was horrible. The only thing that tastes good was the bread and my diet coke an my salad was fresh. I had a number two bone and chick peas and rice.

The main part of the order was 16 chicken wings. The wing were completely uncooked/raw. People can f..ing die for eating raw chicken
The sauce of the wings spilled all over.
The Gruhub driver Deja left the wings unattended at the front desk and left without talking or alerting the front desk people of the delivery. I sent clear instructions to the driver's cell phone on how to contact the front desk personnel if the were not there.
$40+ wasted.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ricki C.Woodbridge, VA03392Nov 21, 2019First to Review
This restaurant seemed clean and the staff was nice. Wasn't terribly busy. I got this order through door dash but I did pick up. The food took about 20 minutes I believe but it was fresh. Freshest salad I've seen from a Kabob Shop. The restaurant is inside a convenience/grocery store called Best Food I believe. They also have pizza and call that Best Pizza of I'm not mistaken. Haven't tried those two as I'm not from Stafford. The food was seasoned well and cooked properly. Juicy chicken. My mom didn't eat her fish but she had already eaten. I love this chicken. Would recommend.

The worst Halal Kabob i have ever had in my life!!
Fish was not cooked and smells bad all the way no way i am giving this to my kid or my dog...waste of money...nasty
chicken was dry, Kabobs and lamb were dry and did not taste good. Only thing which is good is gyro.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - S B.Ladera Ranch, CA033Jul 31, 2020
Horrible! The naan was rock hard and the chicken was under cooked. The rice tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. The shrimp smelled so old and fishy that we didn't even taste it. To top it off, the floors of the store were dirty and nasty. We ordered food from here because we wanted to support Stafford restaurants during the pandemic but this place was a waste of money. Now my stomach hurts.
