I was searching for an Indian clothing store because I needed an outfit for a Mehndi party. I was thrilled to see that there was one close to where I live! I did not want to trek all the way to Jackson Heights. The couple that runs the store are so lovely! Barbara patiently showed me all the options that she had available. She demonstrated the saris and taught me different ways to wrap them. I ended up getting a Salwar suit and Barbara picked out the prettiest accessories to go with my outfit. The clothing is very reasonable priced with different ranges, as well as the accessories.
Besides clothes, they sell Indian spices and goods. I ended up purchasing some turmeric to make some face masks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Catherine T.New York, NY16533121250Oct 15, 2019
This little small shop is located in the Bronx. It's very small but it really does contain sooo many accessories and outfits. I was looking for an outfit for a mehndi ceremony and had no idea what I was looking for. Luckily Barbara, the owner, was patient and very helpful. She showed me all the outfits she had and helped me pick out the perfect fit. They have so many different outfits with so many colors straight from india. They're also very affordable. Huge thank you to Barbara for helping me pick out an outfit and teaching me about the different outfits and fitting :)

I REALLY liked this place.
I had walked by it numerous times as I grew up right across the street, but I never walked in.
I was fortunate enough to get invited to what turned out to be one of the most lavish Indian weddings ever and really wanted to wear a saree. I could have gone to Queens, but I'll be the first to admit I was way to lazy to venture off over there.
I of course waited to the week of the wedding to get my outfit. I went into this quaint little shop and found the cutest husband and wife couple. The wife helped me pick out my fabric to get my custom made dress. She suggested a few things that she thought would look good based on my complexion, but I fell in love when I saw th most beautiful purple and seafoam green material with such gorgeous beading. I was measured and given a matching petticoat. The woman even helped me find the perfect accessories to match. The dress just took 2 days to make. Once it was done I got to try it on in the store- no there is no privacy, but there was no one else there- except an ugly cat that lounges around.
The woman taught me how to wear my saree in 3 different styles. Custom made dress, bracelets, Bindi, necklace, chandelier earrings and petticoat were all $245. That's such a great deal considering the fabric in most places downtown would be $180. If you ever need anything Indian this is the place to go! I highly recommend it. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was because the cat leaned on my pants and left it's gross hair on me.
FYI they only take cash!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Romi M.Yonkers, NY75May 7, 2017

I had a really good experience there. I needed some traditional clothing for an event and the woman at the front desk was more than helpful and it took no more than half an hour. I had a really positive experience over there and if you are in need of traditional Indian clothing then this place is a gem.

The best find on the Grand Concourse! I've been looking for a place in the Bronx to shop for my Indian outfits and religious items. In the past it was queens or NJ!
This store has a great selection of sarees and shalwars. The owners were very welcoming and attentive, I didn't want to leave. I purchased two sarees, one to wear to a wedding I'm attending in a couple of weeks. The other I just couldn't resist buying, I'm sure there is some occasion coming up. I will definitely be doing my shopping here going forward.
With Diwali around the corner I know where I'm getting my diyas!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Elisia D.Bronx, NY264134Jul 25, 2012First to Review
