We recently purchased a condo in the desert with an open floorplan and began our renovation journey working closely with a local contractor. He has been terrific installing new lighting and cabinetry, but when it came to replacing the countertops in the kitchen (which is the central or focal point of the first floor), we wanted to ensure they would reflect our investment of time, talent and treasure.

We were referred to Block Tops by Mission Tile (another trusted vender in So Pasadena) and we couldn't be more pleased with the results.

We picked out the countertop material, decided on a design for the edges, Block Tops came to our unit in the desert took the measurements, and 3-4 weeks later the countertops were expertly installed. They fit perfectly, look beautiful, and once the rest of the renovations are complete - the kitchen will become the vibrant center of our family's activities in our new home.

Thank you, Block Tops, for your professionalism in working with our exisiting contractor, and the care and attention you paid to us and our project. We will be fans for life!

Terrible experience. Had a kitchen countertop completed in Oct 2022. In Dec 2023 we noticed most of the supports are missing. We contacted the company In January, here we are in April and nothing is fixed. They want us to pay $ 700 to fix something that in my opinion wasn't done correctly to begin with. Plus we had to pay $200 for a trip charge. Their warranty is only 1 year, which is why they want us to pay. Find a different company, this is ridiculous.

We had a quartz kitchen countertop intalled Oct 2022. In December 2023 we started noticing problems. Their warranty was 1 year, and even though we are barely outside that window they will not fix it without charging us. Blocktop wants $200 trip charge, plus $700 to fix the countertop and $642 to disconnect and reconnect the sink and plumbing. Turns out they did not install this countertop correctly which is why it's failing. We paid a lot of money for this and we expect that when Home Depot recommended them that the job would be done correctly. I would not trust either company for future projects. We are so disappointed !

Would not recommend this company to anyone. We had countertops installed last Thursday, but they didn't measure correctly so they weren't able to finish the job. We are left with an incomplete kitchen. It looks terrible. I've tried calling Katie, my point of contact there every day since last Thursday, yet still have not heard from her or anyone else at this company. We spent thousands of dollars with blocktops only to get a partial install and then ghosted from their reps. Do not do business with them! We will be reporting them.

Block Tops reached out to me after informing Home Depot of my need for kitchen countertop and installation. The communication was terrible from the start. I forwarded Rick Kapp, the Sales Manager, all of the items that were requested for a quote and followed up a week later after complete silence. I was promised the pricing would be provided later that day. I followed up again after another week of complete silence. The pricing was still not ready. I am not sure how they can expect to be trusted to complete a whole project given the difficulty delivering on pricing. This was a red flag for me, and after reading these reviews, I am glad I walked away.

Block Top's inconsistent and problematic customer service caused many problems for my family. I went to Home Depot (HD) to purchase granite countertop. I spoke with a representative at HD in kitchens. She took my order, and I paid for the installation of 4 sinks and the granite countertops for two bathrooms. Several weeks later, I received a call from HD indicating I only paid for two sinks and not 4. This apparently was discovered when Block Tops came out to measure and discovered that the HD representative did not include two other sinks. The HD rep called me and apologized for the problem saying that she did not understand. This was problematic for me because I had not planned on spending an additional 1,000. I had already paid nearly 6,000. Fast forward I filed a complaint with the corporate office regarding this error. I received a phone call from Block Tops indicating that they would install my sinks on Monday, March 18, 2024. On the morning of March 18th, Block Tops indicated that someone called in ill and they would not be able to install my countertops on Monday, March 18th. I asked them what would happen with the plumbers (Block Tops contract with My Dad's Plumbing). My Dad's Plumbing called me on Friday indicating that they would come out to turn off my water for the demo and installation on Monday. When Block Tops called me on Monday, I informed them that My Dad's Plumbing were coming out and asked what about the cut off of my water. Block Tops said they would handle it and they their own in house demo and installers would disconnect and reconnect my water that was rescheduled on Wednesday, March 21, 2024. The installers came demoed the old countertops and installed the new counter tops. However, they indicated that they were not qualified to install the sinks, faucet and reconnect my water. Block Tops called me on Wednesday, March 21, after the installation and assured me that My Dad's Plumbing would be out today. I received a call this morning from Block Top indicating that My Dad's Plumbing would not come out today but could come out on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. That would mean 6 days without water and my sinks installed. I told them that was unacceptable. They told me that that is all they could offer and that I could go directly to Home Depot and get a refund. This is unacceptable because now I have to look for a plumber to come out, install my sinks and pay additional money that I had not anticipated, yet again! This is a horrible vendor and Home Depot needs to cancel their contract. To top it off, the installer's made damage to my newly painted walls. I want my water turned on!!!!

Buyer beware.. please do not use this company Block Tops for any of your repairs, replacements, home improvements..This company made an 86 year old lady sign a waiver that she couldn't understand and wasn't explained what she was signing that they weren't responsible For the damages they incurred when replacing the bathroom countertop. They did such a Mickey Mouse job and caused a lot of damage on the walls but are persistent to not fix it. What kind of contractors are these? They couldn't even do simple patches on the walls that they damaged and charged my mother an arm and a leg for installing the countertop.. if I can give negative stars I would

      Updated review

I had two countertop jobs they botched. They acknowledged the errors on both but are now telling me I have to find and pay another contractor to prep the area for them before they will reinstall the countertops properly.
The cost to prep the area that they ruined is over $3000.

Unfortunately I had to file a claim with the Contractors State License Board.

One job they installed one section of the counter top with the wrong edging. They have inspected it over 5 times and I keep getting promises they will fix the edge. But then they never return phone calls or set up a time to fix it.

Another job they installed the WRONG granite outside and they glued together with interior epoxy. The entire counter top is now yellow and brown but it used to be white. They left epoxy all over the countertop. They also cut the sink out incorrectly.

We are so happy with the outcome of our quartzite countertops. The crew did such a professional job, and I want to give a shout-out to customer service rep Kenny for making the project go seamlessly and responding quickly to all of our questions and special requests. Thanks again and great job!
