I have to say this restaurant is a great vibe. I had the fried turkey wing dinner and it was delicious. The wing was fried to perfection and very well seasoned. Also the green beans are great. The service was also spectacular.. my server Theresa was sweet and she tended to all my needs. I will be coming back.

I have heard some amazing things about this spot, so since we made the journey back to Norfolk we had to pop in. We lucked up on their reverse happy hour from 6p-9p (Tuesday-Thursday), we got a margarita and Long Island for $6 a piece they were well made.
Service was quick and everyone was polite! The vibe in here is everything I need in a soul food spot, great music and all.
Now food, I got the fried catfish with mac and candied yams with a corn bread. Everything was good on my plate and I would order it again. So far this is the best soul food I've had in VA! The catfish was fried perfectly, mac was so cheesy with the 7 cheeses, and the candied yams were the perfect sweet touch! My husband got fried turkey leg with cabbage and mac, the turkey was good and fried with a good crunch.
I would for sure recommend this spot and that's saying a lot for a VA spot.

My second time come both times i had turkey wings. I called placed my order over the phone by a friendly young lady her name was Morgan. I order the turkey wings candy yams and Mac with Barbara's Cajun pasta then i also added an extra turkey wing and a slice of red velvet cake. I get there my order but was wrong but Morgan was so good at fixing the issue calming and correctly. This young lady should definitely be at your door. The food is amazing well seasoned.


The pork chops was so juicy the gravy on it was so thick and rich. It was so good my hotel doesn't have a microwave i was able to just grub in. Very thick, moist, well seasoned and juicy pork chop. In my opinion cooked to perfection. It was two very hearty pieces at that.

The pasta was good very spicy but a little dry could've used some more sauce I also wasn't a fan of the thick choice of noodle for that type of pasta. The sauce that was on it was really good though could've just been more of it. THE Mac and cheese was a little bland but it could've been old very cheese though, and the yams was so good SO GOOD!

The red velvet cake was so fresh and the frosting was perfect for the slice. I'll definitely come EVERY IM VISITING VA BEACH

The turkey wings and chops i mean full off the freaking bone. This food is worth the price tag on it. Much success to her.

I wanted fish and chicken so I ordered two entrees.

I couldn't eat all this good food, but it was delicious. The fish was loaded on a brioche bun and the fries were crispy! The chicken was crispy

My server was great. They add 20% gratuity to all dine-in orders. I tip anyway regardless of service, so that was fine with me. Don't let that turn you off from the dining experience.

The prices are reasonable! They have a lot on the menu. It is almost overwhelming, but when I go again next time, I will order something different. They have a variety of foods.

The restaurant was neat and clean. The decor was perfect for the spot. I went during lunch, but this can definitely be a nighttime spot for birthday dinners or a good place to go grab food with family and/or friends.

This is not a fast-food restaurant. You will wait for your food to be freshly cooked. If you have a small window of time, don't go because you can't rush good food. Go when you have the time to wait. Don't complain about the wait time because you're in a hurry.

Boss Queens never disappoints. It's gonna hit each and every time. PERIOD! I'm a customer for life

I ordered my meal via doordash and loved that the bag was taped together to prevent tampering.

Let's get into the deliciousness. I order the jumbo lump crab cakes, Mac n cheese, and yams.

The crabs cakes were full of crab meat but the light batter was a little salty. Still delicious. I also wished they were hot but I did doordash the meal. :-)

The Mac was good and what I expected. The yams were great.

The meal came with a roll and it was delicious. Had a caramel taste.

It was the Perfect comfort meal.

I will order again.

This was my second time visiting this spot.

The first time was in August 2023. My husbae and I stopped in for a quick drink and lucked up on happy hour.

The vibes then were chill and the vibes yesterday even better. You would think a midday spot would be kinda dull and super duper laid back. But even at 1pm it was lit. And when I say lit, the bartender Ty was on point and dining in at the bar was super convenient for us even though tables were available.

I did notice about 20 people dining in and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves.

I even witnessed a few to go orders. Now when you see people dining in and folk getting orders to go, you know the food must be good.

Upon walking in I noticed a sign advertising a few deals on food. And usually a place offering deals on a Saturday are slim to none. Well it appeared this sign was left outside by mistake, but Ty informed us, they would still honor it. Such a boss queen move! It was not our mistake, but they owned up to it - I love this!

We received the cheeseburger tray which consisted of 2 sliders and fries.

My husbae ate the burgers, we were supposed to share since we weren't hungry for real, but he ate them both :/ He said the burgers were juicy and tasty! I would never know until next time ... but I did eat the fries, and the fries were good!

I had the Ty margarita minus the OJ and it was so good! I had two :) I love a fresh margarita and I explained to Ty how I like my marg and she delivered!

My husbae had his normal cocktail, Crown Royal with Sprite. He had two also!

We also started the afternoon with a shot and it was on from there!

I love it here!

I highly recommend you check out this spot if you are in the area. I believe you can check them out daily except on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Oh and just to point out, the music playing over the speakers during both visits, I loved it was at a level in which you could hold a conversation without yelling over top of the music!

A Friday early night vs an early Saturday afternoon...different crowds, so I will assume different days/times bring in different vibes/crowds. Therefore, keep this in mind when you visit.

IMO I wouldn't bring the family on a Friday night. Perhaps an early Saturday afternoon or during the week early as possible. I suggest you reserve the after 5pm evenings for 21+.

Nevertheless, plenty of parking as it's located in a shopping area... you can walk your food off while shopping a little.

It's definitely a vibe in here. We were greeted by friendly hostess and led to a table with no wait. Soft R&B playing in the background as I look over the menu. The menu is massive. Loads of options to choose from. I had the fried turkey wing with Mac and cheese and smoked cabbage. If you love a thick crispy fried batter this is your pick. The wing was smoked, then fried. It just hit different. The smoked cabbage had little hints of beef in it (nice touch) and the explosion of flavor from the 7 different cheeses really shine thru. Definitely a must have if you're in the Norfolk area. 9.5/10

The decor in this restaurant is immaculate. The staff was very friendly and super accommodating. I love the menu selections. It is very diverse. My only issue was that the lamb chops were overly spicy for my liking. It was a little unbearable, so I elected to send it back and order something else. However, when you send anything back, it is a 20% charge. Nonetheless, the server handled my concern very professionally. Everything else was very flavorful and extremely delicious. The appetizer portion was insane. You definitely get your moneys worth. The collards for me was a star of the show. They were succulent and seasoned to perfection. Overall an exceptional visit.

Food was really tasty! Service was pretty fast at 5pm and our bartender was pleasant and attentive. I really appreciate the music and that the volume was good but not too loud.

Not a local but if we were we would come again. Drinks are also really nice!

Need a grown and sexy dinner or happy hour.... Seems to be a nice place to go.
